  • What dreams are made of - Accord Wagon with a twist

When ever you hear people talking about their dream cars you have a bit of an expectation. You expect to hear about something old or rare...Not this guy One of mine is the 94-97 Accord Wagon. I first saw one of these in 97 and have bee in love since.
Fast forward almost 20 years and I finally got one. It is a 94 Ex, minus a few small dents and some paint that needs some buffing it is in great shape. So I decided to put my S10 project on the back burner and steal the suspension components for the Wagon

So what is the plan? Well, to go low To do that I contacted Jeremy at Dice Suspension and ordered a 2 pump 4 dump hydraulic kit with a whammy tank and accumulators, 8" cylinders in the front and 10" in the rear. The entire system will be hardlined using 3/8 .049 wall stainless tubing. I am going to power it with 2 Kinetik HC1800 everything except the pumps will be neatly tucked away in the spare tire area.

Quick test fit of the whammy tank in it's future home. I love the black anodizing.

I am still waiting on a few parts to arrive, getting the windows tinted in the next few days, and I have to leave town this weekend for work, then when I get back I have a wedding. So the plan is to get everything in and this baby on the ground the first weekend of September. So stay tuned.

This is not my wagon, the pic is for reference. This one also has hydraulics so it gives you an idea of how low you can get them on hydraulics without any major modifications or cutting.

Hydros are really the best way to go if you want your Honda LOW and to ride good. Air is just to much of a PITA for small cars on a lot of different levels.

I have been driving this the last few days and I love it. The car drives and handles pretty nice for how big it is. Took it in yesterday and got it tinted, feels and looks so much better.

I have the day off and I am out of town for work all weekend, so today I am going to pull the rear seat and rear interior panels, take some measurements and get my battery rack and pump rack built. I have a few more parts to order from Dice today and then I should be good to go. My plan is to get everything installed by next weekend and have it back on the road.

before I took off for the weekend I was able to get a good start on this. Got the rear of the car gutted and cleaned. You could tell this was a family car from all the trail mix and single mini candy bar wrappers I found under the back seat.
Once I got the battery rack built and installed I was able to slap on some Herculiner for some added protection and looks, I still have to do one more coat.
I also started tinkering with the plumbing. Got one side close to done, so I did a test fit with 2 of the accumulators. It is all just laying there and the accumulators are upside down but you get the idea.

Hopefully I can order the last of my fittings today along with what I need to finish the install and get that done this weekend.

I've always loved those old Accord wagons. Stoked to see how this progresses.

Should be interesting. I'm in for this. Not quite sure who thinks hydraulics ride better than air though.

I have had both juice and air, I have had both in a Honda. I didn't like air for the Honda, just my personal preference.
I am also not going to be running any kind of a spring, which is what a lot of folks with hydraulics do. I am going to be running accumulators. With these it will "ride like a Cadillac"

Thank you, I was thinking the same thing about your civic

Placed my order for everything I need to finish up the suspension. Now I just need to finish the plumbing and get my wiring ran before it all gets here.

Not a lot of progress in the way of getting things done, but I have been getting things in order. Got almost everything I need to do the wiring, I am still waiting on my 2/0 copper lugs so I can't really start on it. Which is fine because I don't have time this weekend to work on it anyway
I also came home to this Tires will be on first thing Monday.

Yesterday was hard to do things, I was really hungover from my best friends wedding. So I just did a few little things.
The previous owners had kids, the more I dig into this car the more evidence I find of that. I spent probably 2 hours scrubbing and shampooing the carpets, so much candy and soda spilled under the seats. I didn't really get any pics of that.

I also got my ground cable built and installed along with the 9 wire cable for my switches.(You can kind of see the carpet after it was cleaned, still not to my liking)

I am not really a fan of chrome so I spent the rest of the night working on a small detail to my "H" emblems and my pump motors. I still have to do the tank but I am planning something special with it.

These will go well with the wheels once it is all said and done and they are mounted, but I forgot that today was Labor Day so I am waiting until tomorrow to get my tires.

Funny story, just the other night I was looking through pics of an s10 build on another forume. Guy had mentioned Dice and Kinetik stuff. Turns out it was your build lol. Im buying a dodge d50 from an old family friend and its already got a two pump front hydro setup on it so I had googled a bit to try and find some builds and understand hydraulics. Funny that I now run across this thread of yours lol

Yea that is my 01. I bought it with the intention of juicing it but I couldn't pass on getting this. I am still going to juice the truck but it won't be for a bit, I just blew my budget on this lol.

What area of Oregon are you in?
a 2 pump setup is perfect for a D50, you just need at least 4 dumps(1 per wheel) and 24volts. If it is coil over cylinder just add some shocks or ditch the coils and go accumulators.

I don't mean to sound like one of those ignorant idiots (I am when it comes to hydraulics), but will "dat shit hop homie?"
