First off, we're open!!
Signs will be going up this week, and y'all can follow on instagram @revolutiondiesel to see what we're up to
A few newer Freightliners that have already been through the doors.
And one shot of my car and the big girl:
I took the leaking cab jack to get resealed, only to find that a previous "repair" involved running a wood screw through the cylinder cap, so machine works to fix it would have been pretty high. Fortunately, i scored a replacement set off eBay, so hopefully we'll have access to the engine by the end of the week. Also, 10 ft stacks are on the way
Excuse me, that animatronic Rock-afire member is very important to me. Would you mind giving the address to the place up in the mountain with this character. It is very off topic but it means a lot to me. Thank you.
Truck just got dropped off! I talked the seller into delivering it about 90 miles cause the starter is going out and I didn't want to get stranded (replacement starter also was thrown into the deal ). Poor guy blew a steer tire on his wrecker 10 miles from our shop, so I got him in contact with a shop to come swap it out. 20 minutes after he left our place, the other steer tire blew! Probably didn't turn out to be the best deal for him, I kinda feel bad...
Side note, the seller owns a heavy machine scrapping operation out in the mountains, and the desk in his office is surrounded by defunct animatronic characters, looked like the rejects from Rock Afire Explosion. So weird, I had to snap a bonus pic of one of them:
Only had a couple hours to mess with it over the weekend, but the starter is swapped, fresh batteries in, and it started right up. Next will be to rebuild a leaking lift cylinder so we can actually get the cab up and look at the leaky water pump. At least she's safe inside the new shop!
I'm a mechanic Freightliner and I just love the cabovers! Much more attractive to me than the typical Peterbilt! I will have to get one of my own eventually...
Let's have the details!!! What's going under the cab?
Super cool! May ask you for expert advice . More complete specs, engine is an Cummins NTC-300F big cam coupled to a Fuller 9-speed.
