  • Form meets function, the story of my .:R32

So I parted out my MK6 GTI last year to make her a reliable DD and to save up for a new build. After lots of searching I came across a mechanically unmolested 04 R32 with only 80k miles on the odometer for 13k. Needless to say I snatched it up in a heartbeat.

    Need to remove these tails

    Beautiful interior

    And a completely unmolested engine

First things first was to do all the preventative maintenance I believe she needed

And I no longer look like a teenager when I drive this thing!!!!

when doing the haldex fluid and filter change I discovered the drain plug was partially stripped :/ looks like next time I'll be pulling the haldex and getting it helicoiled

Also gave her the first proper wax job and added a Yakima rack I had laying in storage for a few years

Not pictured: turns out the front passenger rotor was warped and gauged causing brake shudder. Was promptly replace, setting me back a good $600 :/

I was expecting a skyline. Thread title missleading.

You'll always look like a teenager driving this. Deleting rear smoked tail helped with that, but adding a roof rack got you right back were you were on the teenage-o-meter. Is is realy such a bad thing though? Those cars are awesome, teenagers like them for a reason.

1 last thing. I don't know if it's just the pictures, but it seems like the center of the steering wheel is not actualy in the center of the wheel. Please tell me I'm wrong and delusionnal.

Got my faces from the powder coated. Debating on keeping them or selling them for all new suspension bits. Waiting on hardware now.

              Finally got some new bolts!!!

Pretty decent polish If I said so myself, could use a little bit more buffing

When the MK4 r32 was new, it was the first 'import' I really liked. Thanks for reminding me why I love these things.
