  • Shrek is going low...

    Hi guys.
Í was looking for replacement since my previous car got totaled just after "finishing" it 3 years ago.

My previous car few minutes before that hit:

Then I drived this for a while:

    When I bought current car:

We needed to make some repairs, car was sitting at previous owners shed for 4 years, new brakes, spark plugs, oil etc...
My to mounts for camber plates was repaired just after accident with previous probe - K-sports coilovers has rubber bushing between two metal parts which was torn on one of rears. So we burned them all out and tig welded two metal parts together...

-15mm on the length of whole shock assembly - win

    Then I obtained these:

And started building my custom tubular rear arms
    Trailing ones:

    And adjustable lateral ones:

Sadly - When I got them welded ets - I was little bit to excited and hurried with assembling - forgot to clean thread and got them stuck/striped, shame on me, I need to build them again and better

Got one damaged bbs repaired - very happy with result - I cant tell which rim was broken (actually had hole through barrel from that accident) from the outside - I need to see slightly diferent shade of silver on the inner side of rim.
And I just couldnt resist mounting them on stock height car...

They are BBS RXII 10x18 all around, with 225/40 tires.

Then mirrors happend. At first I was like "ouch, what had I done" but then I started to like them as I expected when I sketched them while sitting at the toilet (TMI ) And here the nickname comes, When one of my friends saw it - he immediately called it Shrek

    Some lows happened:

    tight fit

But the fronts were a little bit sunken - good for ride - no rubs etc, but the looks wasnt pleasing for me:

So I put 22mm instead of 5mm spacers, we also pollished the paint (what a difference) - I needet to rise it a little but I hope to figure it out soon.

    And now we are here:

    Next plans:
putting these as DRL into the fog lights housing:

redoing lip, building rear struts spacers to get more space on the inner side of wheels (more camber, yeah)
building front raised camber plates - to have some suspension travel while getting lower.

And this week I am going to build some cannard to see if it could look good or not.

I also bought this wing, Not sure I like it, I like it from one angle, **** it from another... so its sitting in my basement and waiting for my decision

also looking for some 3-piece 17s or 18s to build something maybe 13" wide and going with overfenders..

I really **** the car looks almost like my previous one, I really want different rims - but better look another year on these high-quality ones than riding on cheap-ass replicas or something like that

    I appreciate all opinions

          Thanks guys
I am now building front lip from Alfa147 front bumper and some cannards from sheet of plastic. I hope it will look like on my own drawings - we will see in few days. Gotta grind the cannards a little and then paint them gloss black.

Also need to figure out custom inner splashguards since I want to go lower and I am (almost) dailying the car.

your taste in cars are... different.

I like the front fender mounted mirrors! The wing, not so much.

Well. Nothing suspension related happens, but still building these custom "aero" parts
Cannards painted, now to mounting it - I need to lift the car, remove front wheels etc. and I'm so lazy )

Also made some custom mounting brackets for my "GT" wing - I'm gonna use center part from that bought wing, with those custom mounting brackets, custom plastic end plates and custom aluminium stands... It should be ok

but most of the time I'm just driving around and washing it---

This is pretty sweet! I like the mirrors on the fenders, it's different. Were they universal?

According to ebay seller - some Toyota pickup mirrors...
I decided by shape of them - didn't wanted something "too oldschool"

Hand cutted some numbers (pink and blue foil to get that purple, and some chrome/stainless foil)
Why? Because this is my 4th Probe

Also riveted cannards to brackets and did quick mockup...

suddenly I need to build some kind of splitter

But I think I'll buy some black plastic (I'm obviously not so good with spray paint ) and redo it this way:

                          self bump...

Made wing endplates and now building some stands for this:

Also drawed some "dropblocks" for rear and my friend made them real.

I want to use them with air - it should allow me to make less poke at rear with -30/60/90 drop. But still dont know if it will work

Also - I want to build these front "reverse mounted" camber plates... They should mount from hood side of wheel well, should make about 25mm drop and allow more camber.
                          Integrated strut-brace brackets as well

Interesting sky we got few days ago...

I'm subd in for this build as I have a probe too. This car doesn't have a lot of aftermarket behind it but I still love it because it's not a common build. I like being different.

                            Good luck on it!

It takes my friend a little longer then expected to mill that aluminium stands down(we are making them at work, when we have free time), so I came with temporary solution and welded smaller steel ones...

test fit, still need to grind down that corner

Well, first testfit - I think its good but I will try other shapes of endplates anyway

Its not bolted yet so It could be little misaligned

I just want to takes some autumn photos before I turn it into winter mode(my summer tires are already bald so it will be a little sooner) ... I hope to be able to install my air suspension at rear(atleast) while doing that. Still need to buy some fittings.
