I continued pulling the speakers, and removing wiring.

Picked up these laser cut wooden door cards from Aardvark racing. I covered them in poly before installing just in case water ever gets to them.

Separated the uncut skins from their cardboard backing and glued them to the wooden cards.

The old speaker clad cards were removed....

and the much nicer rebuilt cards were installed.

The same process was repeated on the drivers side door.

Since I was spending so much time on the interior, I decided to make a simple cup holder. Its an $.95 cup holder that I cut to fit and attached with Velcro. It actually works surprisingly well.

About this time, my wife and I made some 2002 themed koozies to help pay for my car addiction. I was surprised at how well they sold, and I have been shipping them all over the world since.

I also picked up a kit to install my side draft 40's but I think this is going to go on the back burner for a while.

That pretty much brings us to present day. Back in April we took it on a BMW CCA drive to North Georgia where it held its own on the back roads, keeping up with much newer and faster cars.

And spent the evening in Helen Ga, which really made me miss SOWO.

Earlier this month I put it up on the lift to go over it before making the trip to the vintage. I also introduced it to its new garage mate, Ill have to put together a new thread for the e9 project.

Before heading out to the Vintage, I hit the paint with a fresh coat of wax and cleaned the wheels.

All packed for the Vintage. The 02 truck defies the laws of space and time....

Made it from south Atlanta to Greer SC to the CCA foundation.

And then made the 2 or so hour trip up to Hot Springs Nc to our rental house. Or so we thought.... there was a wreck on the way and we spent about 3.5 hours making the drive. Reinstalling the AC is the next big project.

The vintage was awesome and the humble little 02 actually got a lot of attention. I gave it a much needed wash a couple days ago and snapped some pics.

With the E9 project now in full swing, I might make a thread later, the only plans for the 02 is to enjoy driving it. I would like to get the AC back in, which I may do at the same time I sort the E9's Ac. It also has a transmission leak which I need to take care of before Oktoberfest later this year. Anyway, I will do my best to keep this thread updated a little better.

Astonishing. Great approach and a beautiful car. Congrats on getting married!
