Fourth Time's the Charm - Another Air Hatch

Alright well, after looking at my car on stands for 30 minutes I was finally pissed off enough for a couple of reasons:
- My car was going to be down for a week or more.
- It didn't go low enough. At all, I was as low as I was aired out with my static red hatch.
Remedy:
- Front drop forks arrived to finally put the front on the pavement.
and this.. Just bare with me, but what we have here is a body dropped 1996 Honda Civic hatchback. Finally strut tower removal, and brace support welding will be done tomorrow. Tonight was just a mock up. This will effective drop my rear end 3", allowing me to have more psi in the bags at drive height to increase ride quality, as well as being able to make my gas tank wish it was never born. Management will be hung from the "jungle gym" in my trunk, and no, none of the holes will be covered. Why? Why not. Your thoughts are more than welcome.

Shit just got real.

Doesn't quite work like that haha, I didn't want to damage the strut body itself. (The expensive part.. the replacement bag was "only" 100$, which is a fair price considering my RSX bag blunder cost me 175$..)Originally posted by Meeve View PostDon't you got bags? As I suspected, drop forks showed up today lol.
My roof looked horrible with all the spray lines so I decided to have some fun.

Strut is shipped out for a new bag. Price wasn't entirely rape so whatever. Car is torn apart (again, what's new) and awaitng new front camber plates (UCAs), my drop forks (lol.), and now the new bag. Going to be playing around with some stuff and get those spindles shaved down.Last edited by Dremetos; 08-19-2015, 01:37 PM.

No forks, and blew a bag today. Mint.
Turns out my passengers side front had a degree or two more of negative camber, thus angling the spindle closer to the strut assemby than the drivers side. I only checked clearance on one side figuring "it's the same upper control arm, what's the difference?" Well over time my spindle made love to my bag. Gotta ship the one strut out to AirLift to have it replaced. Shouldn't be complete rape money wise, but a major bummer. Car trailered the car home and in my garage it sits.
On the way to the car with the dolly the hitch pin fell out and the trailer fell off only hung by safety chains. That was fun. Towed it the rest of the way with a screw driver shoved through the hole with vise grips securing it on the other side.
Good times.
