I bought a Mercedes while I was living in a Mercedes
Before I go off and order some, could anyone with real-world experience with wobble bolts chime in and reassure me that my wheels won't fly off one day at 70 mph? There are some really cool 5x114.3 wheels that fit the sizing I'd like to run on my 5x112 Baby Benz. Picture examples are encouraged.
I daily my car with wobble bolts and they're fine. I've done so for a collective 2 years over the past 3 in winter and summer all over Boston. I'm still doing so now and I have roughly -10 to -12 degrees of camber. They're no big deal. I've also been over 120mph (in Mexico maybe probably) with them and nothing happened.

This is exactly the kind of response I was hoping to get. Thank you. I know many people have run them without issue, but a second opinion never hurt, right?
Slightly unrelated, but I tracked down a heckblende in good condition down in Florida. It's not exactly the style I've been in search of, but the price is right and I LOVE RARE PARTS.
In other news, I'm an idiot and forgot I had a full set of poly bushings hidden away, along with my SS brake lines. Those will be installed as soon as I have a free weekend.
Thank you everyone for the kind words, I'm glad you are enjoying what I'm doing and/or how I'm writing this thread.
It's obviously a quick mock-up, but I plan to mold the whole 3-piece assembly into the trunk and rear quarters, blending the contours into the body lines and shortening the wing appropriately. This will be my first "real" venture into custom body work, so any tips/tricks are welcomed with open arms and an open mind.
Good morning S|W folks. Don't have much of an update on my car, but a close friend just picked up a Cressida. Coincidentally, his motor started knocking last weekend, right after his 1JZ landed on this side of the pond from Japan.
And then I went to the beach.
I found a set of tires locally for like $60 too, so I'll hopefully have some more updates soon. I just want to drive the damn thing.
So I got the clutch master cylinder swapped out. Total pain in the ass. There's no room to reach the bolts holding the cylinder to the pedal, so I just decided to rip the whole pedal assembly out. Much easier to access everything that way.
Drove it back to NH that night without any issues. I then left for Chicago for two days, and returned home to the car.
Here's where it gets weird. The car started misfiring yesterday morning, the first start since I've been back. The car sat in one place for less than two full days, and now it's not running properly. It had rained while I was gone, so my first inclination was moisture under the distributor cap. Took that off, cleaned the contacts on the cap/rotor, and put the cap back on. Slightly better, but not "fixed".
Found a vacuum line with a broken rubber boot, too. Plugged both open ends of the line, and that didn't do anything either. It's idling right around where it should be (~750-800 RPM) but it's not a smooth idle. Plugs were changed less than 500 miles ago (with copper plugs obv.), and wires look to be nearly new as well.
I just don't understand how the running condition changed so drastically over the course of a few days, especially after not being driven. I've checked the OVP relay as well, which seems to be fine. I'm running low on ideas, and I'd rather not bring it to a shop and toss money at it blindly.
The running rough with these cars range from plugs(copper non resistance- denso t20ep-u 1.38$ from rock auto!!!) very important that they have no resistance if your running oem bosch plug wires, to fuel filter and injectors(k jet) and relays (ovp , fuel pump relay)
Hopefully you find the culprit
Edit: if you cleaned the cap and rotor and it started running better, then just replace them with some beru units.
Never argue with an idiot. He'll drag you down to his level, then beat you with experience.
