Well I see bike threads now!
I've been slowly restoring a CB77 when I get bored with cars.
She's all original,
I've always been a fan on the superhawks, and I finally got my own.

This was her when I first got her. Nothing worked, electric start, no turns, horn, wiring was all destroyed. I wasted no time, and dug right into her.
Things the bike needed right away.
New battery
A Carb Rebuild + Gaskets + O rings.
Petcock Rebuild
New Tach Cable
New Speedo Cable.
New Cluster gasket.
New Neutral Switch , old one is rusted, and finicky only works sometimes.
New polish case screws and hardware.
Clean up the exhausts they have rust pitting all over them.
After adding gas and oil, and some fighting I got the bike to run and idle! For the first time in ten years. Previous owner drained all the fluids out of the bike for " storage" purposes...

Painted & Rebuilt the carbs
Sandblasted, and refinished the kickstart cover as well as the right side starter cover.
Refinished the footpegs in gloss black.

Condition of my current exhaust.

I wasn't to fond of this finish, the poor rattle can job was starting to show. Not going to fly with me.

Everything was sand blasted, stripped completely of all material that was on them. I then blew then clean, scuffed with a scuff pad to take the excess media off the parts. Then cleaned them very well with prepsol.

After they were cleaned, they were coated with two coats of PPG Epoxy primer. Then there's a few minor dents I'll then correct, and then prime with high build grey primer.

Installed the kickstart cover, adjusted the clutch cable. Pretty happy with how that came out.

Side Covers in 2k high build primer

Tiny bit of overspray on the bottom where my tape lifted I'll address before I paint the struts.

Painted the parts couple of tiny dirt knibs I'll polish out, but other then that I'm happy with my color.

Started polishing the hubs, still have a lot of work to do with them.

Spent about 5 hours total sanding and polishing this hub. I'm not super happy with the way it came out. In my opinion it looks great at certain angles, and some spots it's swirly, with some light light pitting still visible.
I didn't take before pictures but this is how the front wheel looks. It was worse then this one but still the same idea.

Motor before

Polished the fins more, and did a little gloss black contrast that I like.
Also polished as best as I could my original exhausts that came back from the plater who was unable to plate them.
I also made a fork install tool with threaded rod to thread into the fork to help installation.
So basically I have a a 65 Superhawk, that would have been " fine " for most people. However I'm insane and like my stuff held to a higher standard. I've been slowly working on this bike now for about 5 months.
I've tried to have my exhausts rechromed because they are ORIGINAL. I don't want thai replica pipes
, and I've struck out twice finding a plater who could do them. I even lost 175 bucks shipping them to a plater who said they COULD do them only to have me PAY to send them back.
My chrome side trims on the toaster tank are at a plater getting rechromed, that is my favorite part of the bike.
