You're ruining a perfectly good car. Usually when someone decides to take on the rat style their car is already old and decrepit. But I mean you do you, but just know people are going to give their opinion and I bet you're not going to like what they have to say.

Cheese & Rice. It is a high mileage, rusty, tiny engine E46, not a pristine E30 M3.

I applaud anybody who is doing exactly what makes them stand back from their car and smile.

No doubt I'm trying to be different! If I didin't I would have left it stock. Some things people like, some things people don't, and thats part of the game! I'm trying to find my own style. I can't and will never have a pristine clean car. I'm way too careless. I **** to be carefull with my car because I'm afraid I will scratch it. So this style is def for me! I can scrape, make dents, scratch the paint, tear the seats, and not realy give a damn about it. I'm daily driving this car and do everything with it. I'd actualy might even make a new unique touch out of a new flaw on the car. It's the opposite of a garage queen.

Nahhh Rwd is my thing. And I have a Jeep liberty for the winter if I want 4wd . I don't realy know what the wheels are. I never found out. All I know is that the brand is CW. I had them shipped from europe from a guy who had those, I think they are awesome. They are 16x8 and 16x9.

You may want to review your idea of a perfectly good car. Perfectly good cars don't sell for 600$. Have you seen the rust I fixed on this baby? I fixed a LOT of stuff on this car in order to get it where it is today. And I wouldn't even say it's a perfectly good car now. I've got a few more maintenance lined up. But it's now a pretty reliable daily. I've actualy saved this car from the dumpster and gave it a second life.

And yes, people are going to give their opinion, and thats what I'm here for. I stated that earlier. I am completly aware that this isint a build that will be approved by the vast majority. And I'm glad for that.

If you like it, fine. Like others have said, not a fan of the forced rat look. To me, a forced rat is taking a fairly modern car and doing shit like rusting the hood and showing off badly done weld jobs. Basically, if it looks stupid on a mk4 Jetta, then you shouldn't do it to an e46.

Ok guys here is a picture rich update!

First, I've rolled my fender, so I could drop it back to the minimum settings

Then I went to a local meet here in my hometown. I snapped a few pictures of the car, it was a real crowd favourite.

It draw a lot of attention and sure put a smile on peoples faces. Enough words for now

I'm by no mean a photograph and these are crappy phone pics. I want to take a few good nice shot soon. I'm satisfy with it for now and I will focus on maintenance for a little while. Allthough I am far from done with modding it.

I wasn't saying what I said to be an ass. I was saying each to their own and I personally don't like rat look. I applaud you for doing what you want to do regardless of what people think. And as for forced rat look I meant in terms of going balls out with the look as opposed to alot that just have the odd rusty patch here and there and call it "rat". Not meaning to start arguments dude. The work gone into it is much more than any of my cars have had in the past years and I applaud you for it. Do what you want. As I said, it is your car and no one elses! Although, I will admit, the more I see it the more I'm beginning to like it...

i've seen to much forced rat rods that i just can't make myself like these cars anymore.
and to be honest, i don't see the point in making a car from 2000+ look like it's been rotting away for decades. because everybody knows that rust came within a few baths of acid.
btw these easy cliche things like putting on a roofrack or matt paint from a spraycan are things that a e46 just doesn't deserve.

i'm all in for a daily beater for which you don't need to give a fuck about, but it doesn't need all these attention grabbing add-ons.

anyway, you did fixxed the rust, kinda, so i'll give it to ya; good work

i shouldn't be daily driving this:

No argumenting here to each his own indeed! And it's all the better if I can convince some people that this style can be nice too!

I'm not gonna rust it out like some other rat build. And my hood was burnt as you could see from my first post. No acid here. Not much rust either, just the classic hood.

As of the e46 model not "deserving" of spray can paint job and roof racks, I dissagree. The e46 is a very good base for a custom job. Car has good line, it's rwd to start with, and its a big 4 door sedan on the cheap side. So I wouldnt say its a car that shouldnt be touched. There is a gazillion e46 out there and I'm just making this one my own. I'm encouraging any other e46 enthousiast out there to do the same. This isin't a car for the purist just yet. And you are right when you say it doesn't need all this attention grabbing add-ons. Thats the beauty of it.

e46 looks killer, i would loose the hood ornaments but to each his own.
does anyone know what wheels these are by chance? I know the OP said he bought them on eBay, but I am really liking them.

E46 and a big door sedan, since when?

This car tries too hard and lacks fitment.

Thanks for the review! I didin't buy the wheels of ebay though. I bought them of some guy in germany when my were living in the netherlands and they shipped them to me! I was pretty stoked when they arrived. I just googled borbet cw and some image of another set of 4 for sale poped up. Guy is calling his borbet CW. so I guess they are borbet and CW must be the model. Yep. Definatly those wheels.

You don't think the e46 is a big sedan? I think my fitment is not so bad! considering it's static. But it's true I should get spacers for the front rims. Get some poke.

An E46 is a compact. An E65 is a big sedan. Even my old-ass E-class is a foot longer than an E46, and I don't think my E-class is big by any standards. Hell, my daily Lancer is an inch longer than an E46.

                                So, no.
