Thanks! I appreciate all positive feedback. This kind of project is really hard because all the work the car still needs. Bought 150kg of sand today to sandblast the car and found out that the 8 bar of air pressure my compressor puts out is not enough to do the job. I`ll look around if I´ll get a better air pressure regulator so I could have 10-12bar of pressure. That should be enough for my cheap sandblasting gun to do it´s work well-ish
I found new golf 2 coilovers from a local dealer for a good price and I have had a set of rims for ages but I haven`t put any pictures of them here I´ll fix that mistake as soon as I remember to take my camera with me when I´ll go work on the car.

After 3 hours of drilling, grinding, measuring and cutting, we now how this.

        A bare 127 with a nose.

I don´t think that I´ll get to finish the job today because I really dont want to weld that new nose piece in with my flux wired mig. My other halves brother has a stick welder that makes a much better weld I´ll try to get him to help me some day.
I´ll sure try to do as much as I can to get the car ready for sandblasting next weekend.

Then I´ll try to remember to also bring my parts car/storage car key and the camera with me to shoot some pictures of the 13" rims I have there. Coilovers should arrive next week also so pictures of them will also come

Be careful using a stick welder (I think you mean Arc welder) as its for thick gauge and it will burn a hole right through sheet metal. You might be better off with the flux core Mig, or ideally see if you can borrow a Co2 Mig. If you clean off the paint and look up a few you tube videos on flux core welding you can get some pretty good results with a few tips.

That said, I'll be following this restoration, you're really going all the way, wicked job!

            Small update, coilovers arrived.

Got the nose welded on the car. Did most of the welding with my flux wired mig. Didn´t turn out too bad. I´m in the middle of removing underside coating to weld the sills and jacking spots.
When the rain stops outside I´ll try to finish as much as I can.
A personal garage would be nice righ about now :/

Tänud! Eks peab end rohkem kätte võtma, et see auto sealt kerehõõritsa küljest lõpuks alla saada. Jaanipäevaks sai lubatud, et rattad all. Eks näis, kas peab sõnu sööma või ei.

A lot of welding and priming. I hoped to get more done but there is just so much welding. It seems to go on forever. Fix one hole, find 3 more.
I bought some lead to fill some of the welds etc.

Since I had to remove most of the old seat brackets when I repaired the rusty floors I decided not to reuse 127 seats, but instead take two of my old Tempra seats and make mounts for them. The car will be a 2 seater so no problem with them being from a saloon car.

Many hours of welding etc I now have these:

Seats appear to be level. All well so far..

Drivers seat frame seems to be level with the sill.

Well.. That´s not going to work.. :/

Passanger side seat seems to be a little off too.. Why is that you may ask.

Drivers side rear mounts for reference

Damn. Why are the passanger side seat rear mounts different from the drivers seat ones, I dont´t know. Going to have to copy them off the drivers side seat to match.

Another problem from a picture above is that the seat adjusting levers are inside the door. To fix that both of the seats should have to go together at least 3cm. Problem is that between the drivers side handrest and the passanger side seat there is only 4cm of room max. So I´ll be 2cm short on that solution.
Maybe I´ll modify the seat levers..

Will have to sit on this problem to come up with a clever solution now :/

Havent touched the car since last update. Had to do some general maintenance on the A8.

Since I needed to make some parts for my little brothers go cart I tinkered around and I made a drill press/DIY milling machine attachment for the lathe.

At first it had a 350w single phase engine on it. The same type of engine the lathe had before. I fried that.
I needed a new engine for that so I put a brushed engine from a 1200w leaf blower that I had sitting around on it and installed a rpm controller too. I need to slow it down even more so going to have to fabricate some more pulleys I think.

I fried the lathe 350w motor too so I replaced it with a single phase 1500w engine.
I made a electric lead screw for the lathe with the 127 parts car windscreen wiper motor and a computer power supply. Have to fabricate a rpm controller for that in the future too.

                      In a different matter I have a Mac 50/mv

( http://www.scantime.co.uk/_docs/025206.pdf ) laying around I was hoping some of you have someone in mind that would neeed one.
                      The auction site: https://osta-ee.postimees.ee/mac50mv...ml?_src=seller
Prices on ebay are off the roof for one of these.
