I spent 9am - 1.15pm polishing one lip this morning. Its nowhere near perfect, but bear in mind:
A) This is my first attempt at polishing
B) They started off around 80 grit.
C) They have those silly U-bends which I had to polish by hand.
The one behind is How they came. I couldnt photograph them very well, they are more reflective but at the same time have more flaws in real life.
Ive got a nice little corner set up for polishing things.

Imo they already look pretty cool Layed out, but the front bumper just needs to be way more aggressive, it totally ruins it. In fact I'm thinking of switching to full texture bumpers just so you can't make it out properly.
I think I'm going to at least plasti-dip the lower grills to make it more aggressive.

Only a small update tonight:
when I test fitted the wheels before I assumed that all 4 of the wheels were Identical, but after I finished Splitting the last of the wheels tonight I noticed that the barrels were not identical and neither were the lips.
So then I checked the faces and In fact only two are flat backed, the other two have some offset, Im going to check tomorrow if its enough to clear the brakes.

Stripped the clear from the rest of the dishes.
I love this stuff, It strips everything so easy.
Within minutes it goes like this:
Burns so much if it gets on your skin though.
A couple of them are pitted, Ill have to put in some work to get that out.
I'm going to use the two 0.5" dishes and the narrower barrels for the rears.
But I have a choice for the fronts,
I can either use the pair of 1" dishes, which I managed to get all of the curb rash out of
OR;
The pair of 1.5" which still have some pretty bad marks in them.
I wouldnt mind some opinions?INSTAGRAM:- @AROSSMARTIN

have wanted to see the mounted wheels. The finished car must be impressive, my father drove this car years ago and also was white.
I have some nostalgia when I read this post. Congratulations and encouragement to the project from Spain. Sorry for the vocabulary I use google translatorLast edited by jose1974; 07-19-2015, 02:36 AM.

I am hoping to mount the wheels this week. I need to take the faces to a machine shop and get the centre bore enlarged to fit my hubs. After that I'll get them built.

Only a minor update. I just dropped the wheel faces at the machine shop, I should have them back by the end of the week.

So I just picked the faces up. Looks like they did a great job on them. They even put a chamfer back on the inside.
