I'd Like To Start Off Formerly known a wwwdotwhip17 on here, Im Jonathan, Im 18 Years old From Michigan, I work 2 jobs, Living with my parents and going to Tec For automotive trade in brakes and steering and suspension.

    BAM!

Autotragic ej6, 1.6 with 230k on the dash,d16y7 stock, stock and stock.
I owned another 98 5 speed that i sold back in November(?) Rusted so badly i didnt want to pit my 6.29/hr checks into it because i was to big of a job for me at 17 to commit to with other bills to pay. Either way i lost my job and didn't have one for almost 2 months, therefore i fell off my car grind. Now back at it, I Needed transportation between my two jobs and school. so my dad offered me the civic that we've driven everywhere including California.

    with my twins Da9
    Old 5 Speed.

As its an automatic and went and scooped up an 5 speed s40 with 120k on the transmission.
Ive started gathering parts for the auto to manual swap just to do out of more of my curiosity and to test my abilities. The dude bryan i got it off of was super rad and had an itr front end at one point but now drives a dc2.
He hooked it up with a few goods that i can cross of my checklist of parts for this conversion.

My Years oe Linkage and shifter:

          oe Pressure plate:

          Oe Clutch:

The next few post are more then likely going to be building this s40, cleaning it up, possibly new synchros, Powerwashed, Resprayed and maybe a new clutch and flywheel. The shift linkcage is going to get a short throw shifter, and so energy suspension bushings. Im going to check the trans and al of its seals, all the bolts i need and so on. At the same time, ill be looking for the rest of my parts to swap it over to manual such as my Pedal assembly, Clutch master/ slave cylinder, rear trans mount and lower trans mount, Manual rebuilt starter, intake manny and Tb with the manual iacv and then the p2e ecu as its non Vtec lol. Lastly those interior pieces yo.

Alotta things that weigh on me as my father thinks my idea of swapping the car to manual is a bad idea just like he thought that i shouldnt have gotten a manual car for my first car not knowing how to drive it and him also ****** that do the work in his driveway. Either or ill post some local cars i see around boring Port huron i see that ive snapped.
My Twins teg, Hes got a build thread floating somewhere around here so check it out yo.

If I can give any advice at all, I would recommend against getting that particular welder. Save your pennies and get something gas shielded. Flux sucks to weld, especially with sheet metal.

Flux core is stick welding with flux in the wire
