After growing up and watching my brother build his cars while in high school and college, I found myself getting the itch to do the same. I stopped playing collegiate football and realized I needed a new hobby.
I bought my first car that I knew I wanted to tear apart and learn how it worked at 18. I picked up a 98 Eclipse GST. The years prior I had no knowledge of cars. I had no friends that worked on their own. Countless hours and days I spent by myself working on it till I got it running again. One night cruising through town I saw a group of people standing around and having good time and it involved a hobby they all loved. Long story short, I've made some of my best friends through this hobby.
After 2 years and a body and motor swap, I parted way with my eclipse. It was bitter sweet at the end. I was passionate about the time and work that had gone into it but just reached a point where it was getting to be too much of a hassle. Here are a couple photos before I said goodbye.

So moving on I wanted something else and I knew I wanted something German. I've always had a soft sport for e36's. I looked at a couple locally and there was something with each that I just didn't connect with the car. A friend of mine had mentioned one that for the right price could be mine. The price just wasn't right for me at the time. Well a few weeks later I get a call saying the same above car was recently in an accident and the owner didn't know what they wanted to do with it. So a few days pass, we talk, few more days pass and I end up with it in my garage. With the way it sat, I couldn't have been happier. It needed work and was a challenge I was ready to take on.
I ended up getting a 1998 328is. The car was in a front end accident at about 25mph. The first night I got I don't think I slept between tearing it apart and assessing the situation.
How it sat the night I picked it up

Over the next few months I fixed it up and fell in love, I had that connection that I was looking for in the car. Here are some pictures before I put it away for the winter.
