  • New VIP Build

What's up everyone? Rarely post here, but I figured I would make a build thread for my new car, since I no longer have my miata. You may have seen it around South West Florida, at meets such as V2Labs, ILDS Winterfest, ILDS Cars and Beachs 5, and a few others. I miss this car, but and SO excited for the new build.

Here's a few pics before I ended up parting it out and trading it in.

    From my feature with SlammedEnuff

On to the new build, my 2008 Infiniti M35!

I've had it now for about 3 months, love this thing to death. Rides amazing, much more power then my miata had, and I fit (being a wider chap.)
So far, I've placed my order for wheels, which you'll see soon, and my airride is almost all here. My crew CourtesyFlush (www.courtesyflushsquad.com) is sponsored by Airtekk airride. Let me be the first to say, I do NOT recommend this company for ANYTHING. Things have randomly shown up at my door with them having no idea what's going on, my compressors, tank, and all my switchspeed parts are here, I was told 3 weeks for everything, and I placed my order on 2/19. Terrible customer service at best, most recently, my air struts should arrive to the HQ up in NY today 4/3, I'll keep you posted on what happens there when I contact them.

Anyway, back to the car. My crew and I recently finished up my false wall, with subwoofer enclosure for the trunk, to get ready for the air install and jump into the world of VIP. Here's some pics of the sub and wall construct:

After constructing the box, and waiting for the liquid nail to dry

After we took measurements, we made a template of the space we actually had in the trunk, and started cutting the MDF, test fitting as we went along. Here's how it looked once we get the face pieces all cut out and sanded smooth

On to cutting the whole for the subwoofer itself, making sure everything fits, and actually attaching the faces to the subwoofer box. Originally I picked up some of the industrial strength velcro, only to find it held a bit too strong, and just ripped the adhesive from the back of the velcro. Well, I picked up some normal velco, mounted the faces, and here's what it looked like:

A few trips to Jo-Ann fabrics, some mild cursing, and an afternoon of Strongbow, here's the finished product! Too excited for how this looks.

Currently Tricked Out Customz has my airtank for a paint match, along with some custom airbrushing, once I receive that, we can begin mounting the compressors, management, and tank, for when my struts finally arrive. I'll try to check back on a daily basis to update the thread and keep everyone posted, thanks for checking it out!

Thanks man, I'm definitely stoked to get this thing on the ground. My wheels are in powdercoating right now, from what I'm told, the lips and barrels (due to size) were on back order, but should be arriving shortly.

I can't wait to see where this goes. That was one bad ass miata, and it looks like you're putting some serious work into it already!

Haha, thanks! I miss the looks I got in the miata, it's so strange driving a stock car again. If all goes well, I want to debut the car at the Cars and Beaches Finale event on 6/6. We'll see how that goes though, I have a few more things I want to add in the meantime, along with my bumpers needing repainted. Definitely need to pick up a gauge for my airride so I know where I'm at, and I at least want to throw in some curtains by then.

            New updates

Ok, so update from this past week. Airtekk told me my order was going to arrive Friday, to their HQ in NY, and they would overnight it. Well, I called on Thursday when the tracking number they sent me said the struts had arrived, and they said they would call me back. Fast forward to Saturday, I call again, my struts shipped Thursday so they say, not overnight, and I have tracking on Monday. Needless to say, I'm a bit unhappy to have all these problems with these guys.

Over the weekend, we started the install for what parts I do have, and ran all my power lines, along with mounted the compressors and management, and decided to make a plexiglass window for the management to be seen through, here's some pics.

Got the controller spot all run

And here's how it is currently, with tank mounted, before we cut the plexiglass piece for the window, it's sitting on it so it doesn't quite fit right.

                Thanks man!

Currently, I received the struts and bags, however, THEY SENT NO AIR LINE. Also, they didn't send me the 3/8 to 1/4 fittings for the VU4 since all Airtekk's product is 1/4" line. Supposed to have that stuff this week.
