Oh, not sure how I missed that. They are quite similar, but I now see my error. Love those style 231s

Nice plans with colour coding the bumpers/skirts and alpina lip.

Yeah I don't like the clears on the front either, I'm sticking with the amber indicators on the front for a bit of colour/contrast.

So today I fitted the 40mm shorter rear coilover dampers from BC, and they allow it to go really low at the back now without winding any preload off the springs, I set the rear so it's about 15mm rim to arch.
It's a shame I can't get the front lower, but it catches loads already.

What are your spring rates at currently? you could potentially go stiffer if you wanted the front down more. I was wondering did you order BC extreme lows initially or just the BR kit?

Hi, the BR kit was ordered as the extreme low kit was not mentioned as an option? I'm a bit annoyed about it all really, I had to basically purchase new shorter dampers all round to get it as low as it is now. Springs are 9kg and 6kg.

Word. Yeah I'm a little out of the blue but I've been lurking haha. Love your e38. I have a pre facelife. But yeah that's rough, you kind of have to specially ask for extreme lows and that means waiting in line for BC to actually answer lol. This is an aside but from previous experience I can tell you if you do want the front down more your struts will be able to handle up to an 11k spring ( and feel good still). and go Swift springs. just for future reference

Thanks for the info, I've heard good things about Swift springs.

Managed to get some polish and wax on the 7, also opened a tin of Rimwax I've had for ages.
Also sorted out the flaking on the front of the cam covers.

Passed it's MOT yesterday with no advisories. Getting it on a ramp was fun, but luckily I had some wood handy to help it clear the ramp.

Took a picture nose to nose with a mates standard E38 while I was there.

                        wait a second?

you can drive that low to a MOT station there?

here in belgium you must be 9cm of the ground min... and if you want to get your car passing on lowering springs they have to me 'goca' attested...

nope no such rules here, had my car tested and that's only 6cm or so from the ground and scraped getting into the test centre haha, getting onto the brake rollers is a different story though...

Yeah, mine caught on the covers for the rollers when the emissions where checked,
So had to get the brake efficiency checked with the decelerometer. I've only got about 5cm to the front jacking block lol.
