  • I'm really bad at build threads. Bagged E30

Since my last build thread was horrible and an absolute disaster, I'm going to give it another go.

This was my previous E30 but due to losing my job and a large number of maintenance issues stacking up I could no longer afford to fix it so I had to part it out.

Fast forward a couple of months to September and I used the money from selling my coilovers and wheels to buy a new E30 off ebay.

It was horrible and I ***** it and it was VERY far from being roadworthy so it sat like that till this year.

In December I finally got myself another job so it was time to resurrect the E30. Not quite though as issue after issue started popping up as I tried to get it roadworthy. Eventually a couple months later I was able to get all the issues fixed and it was ready to daily drive. I had a set of coilovers and corvette salad shooters lying around so I decided I'd chuck those on and set it at a nice reasonable height this time and enjoy having a practical daily. It was stupid of me to think that would last as just a few days after getting it on the road I purchased airrex bags for it and dropped it off to have them installed.

After a few sleepless nights the bag install was done and the wheels were on. Due to only finishing the bag install at 9am on the day of the event that we had to drive 5hrs for the car was quickly rushed together and was far from complete.

    First time airing out.

    At the event.

I drove it around as is for a month after the event daily driving it and feeling mixed feelings as to whether continue on with this car or sell up and move to something else.

This week I took it back to airrex and we installed new rear shocks and did some guard rolling so the car can actually air out properly now.

Installed the bottom section of an mtech 2 wing. Love how it's much more of a duckbill than mtech 1 or is wing.

After seeing it like this and slowly falling in love with it over the last couple months I've decided to keep it and I've ordered a tonne of parts. I have a heap of plans and so it's time to start documenting those plans and keep myself motivated.

So far I've ordered and need to do:
    -Nardi deep corn
    -DTM shifter
    -yellow fogs
-exhaust (need that horrible canon gone asap)
    -tint
-grind out front seam and smaller tyres so front can match rear height

Heaps more in mind so I'll keep you all posted!
ps. sorry for the phone pics. Will be bringing the camera back out for this.

Man. That rear "duckbill" just makes it. Salad shooters just seem to fit the over all aesthetics perfectly too.
