  • Another Grocery Getter Build

Hey everyone! I've been planning on making a build thread for awhile here but haven't gotten the time until now. The downside to me waiting so long is that my car is pretty much done everything that i've planned, but i still have a few things to do and hopefully this will inspire and or help anyone in the future!

Before I go any further I want to give a huge thanks to Clarence aka solowx3 on the forum here! Thanks for the help with any problems I had and for inspiring me to follow through with this build of mine!

Alright, lets get into it. I have a 2004 Bmw X3 3.0i 6MT that i decided(for some unknown reason) to stance it out. I have had the car for just over 2 years now, I bought it from an older woman in Ontario who took amazing care of this vehicle. She was the original owner and the only thing done aftermarket to this vehicle was a little butterfly sticker on the side window. This wasnt an easy car to find, given that it was in flamenco red w/ the beige interior. To add to that, this car also had the m54b30 mated to a 6 speed manual getrag transmission. In short, I got very lucky to find this car in this condition.

Currently these are the mods I have done to the car.

    Suspension:
    -KW V2 Coilovers
    -UUC adjustable rear control arms

    Performance:
    -Custom 3" catback exhaust
    -aFe stage 1 intake
-Sprint throttle booster (waste of money)

    Wheels:
    -Ruffino Meisters 18x8.5 et35
    -Zenna 225/45r18
    -15mm raceland spacers

    Exterior:
    -25% tint all around
    -Zunsport mesh grille
    -Woodgrain/black roundel overlay
    -HellaHorns

    Interior:
    -Nrg M3 short hub
    -Nrg 2.5 quickrelease
    -Nrg Woodgrain steering wheel
    -Momo shift knob
    -Pioneer X7500bt headunit
    -Infinity Amplifier
    -Infinity 12" subwoofer

    Now for Pictures!
These pictures are from last year right when I put the coils on, Unfortunately these are the only ones available for my vehicle and Kw makes track suspension so they weren't exactly made with being low in mind. That being said the ride quality is pretty good, this vehicle does not handle like an suv anymore lol.

    X3

    Grocery Getters

    Woodgrain

These are the new wheels that I finally just put on last week, transformed the whole look of the car, I gotta say, I'm loving them!

    X3 New Wheels

    X3 New Wheels

Thats all for now but ill make updates as they come! Thanks in advance to anyone who decides to follow my build. Also to note I am located in Edmonton Alberta, but I currently live in Kelowna BC for school. If you anyone happens to be around those areas I do photography and I'm always looking for cool cars to shoot so hmu. Im not very big right now so I don't charge for photography. Im just happy to get some shoots under my belt!

Is that United Cycle in the first couple pictures? Looks awfully familiar.

Thanks! What don't you like about the wheel? Just that its aftermarket, or that its kinda cheap? I've been thinking about upgrading to a nardi for a more quality look and feel.

              Dude this is awesome!

The only thing I've ever disliked about these are all the black trim pieces on the outside.

The red on this is also very nice. Keep going man! Hope to see it lower in the near future, AIR?! Seems like the easiest way to get this thing lower without stressing about different coilover setups. Something to consider.
              then i smash yo corolla

Thanks for the support. I agree with the black trim but it does grow on you a bit. Im thinking of upgrading to the newer bumpers, but thats just a thought. As far as bags go thats what i originally planned to do but i was impatient and decided coils were good enough. These coils are maxed out but i could still take out the adjusters and helper springs to get a bit more low.

Thought I would give an update here. Ever since I got my nrg wheel i've regretted not just splurging on a nardi right off the bat. The nrg wheels aren't bad but it didn't seem as classy and was kinda small. Someone in the okanagan bimmerheads group here offered to trade his older nardi for my nrg, I'm liking the change!

Haven't been on here in awhile but I want to get more active with this and my car. I feel like i've been neglecting her lately. Anyways I'm back in Kelowna for school but over the summer I managed to get a few things done. Mostly interior stuff, so I wrapped my pillars. Im pretty happy with the turnout but obviously its not perfect, but for $10 worth of material I can redo them anytime.

                    Burberry Interior Wrap

I'll update later this week, currently i'm not driving the X3. I'm waiting for a replacement disa valve and a few other goodies in the mail.

Someone traded you their Nardi for a $10 bulk order wheel from China that's known to fail terribly?

                      You're good at trading!

Nardi looks great in there and I'm liking the Burberry-esc fabric. My only suggestion is to spend some money and elbow grease and clean up those seats/ the interior with some Simple Green and some Magic Erasers.

Yea man, my seats are gross I'm aware. I'll definitely go try the magic erasers, I'm planning on giving the car a full detail this weekend. Thanks!

No problem! I've been detailing for a fair while, and if you can't clean a piece of leather with simple green and a magic eraser, you probably won't be able to clean it lol.

Also sorry if that post came off a bit dick-ish, no rudeness meant haha.
