Does anyone have any idea as to what coilovers manufacturer will get me absolutely slammed. Like I don't give a shit about ride quality, I just need something that will pretty much lay subframe. Keep in mind though that I am on a tight budget, I'm still in school and pay all of my own bills so there's not much money to spend on the car. I know that D2, K-Sport, BC, and Ground Control all have coilovers for the MX-3 which will fit my car but I don't know which will go the lowest. I repeat, I do not care about ride quality. In fact, whatever coilovers I get I will also get some ridiculous spring rates to keep me from bottoming out. I just need to have a car I can drive without bouncing all over the place. I'd way rather be stiff and lay frame.
You could always just take out the springs for more low! Thats how my turdcel is.. Also definitely following! the turdcel is all free so far! Including the car..
Sorry everyone for the late updates but I was strapped for time trying to get shit done and make sure a 91 escort could ride on its fenders and drag itself for 5 hours to GA (literally).
Updates: I found lots of new body parts to clean it up a bit, new rear bumper, new fender, mounted the front flares with front wheels, escort gt side skirts that were almost impossible to find even damaged, hella cutting to make the car turn (full steering lock with 16x10 -51 pretty damn good if you ask me), front mount oil cooler lol, a fucking huge "TRAPSTAR" banner for the back window and I'm sure I'm forgetting some other shit but this is the result which many of you have seen if you were at EuEx this past weekend.
Oh, and the car got its gas tank ripped out by a road reflector somewhere in SC on the way to GA, and it was dragged for nearly 10 mins and but still was part of the festivities all weekend and made the drive back home. Built Ford tough motherfuckers.
I'll have some more pictures for you guys soon but my phone broke so I'm relying on Instagram at the moment. Also if you search for handsmedia on insta you can find a video those guys did for us which was awesome.
I'd like to see the bottom rear of the rear flares tied in and maybe a grill, but the car is so dope. Props.
Only reason I left them loose on the bottom was because I plan on raising them later when I put 25mm spacers on the rear and poke more. I'm really straying away from the fender to lip look. Not to mention the car will have 15x14s on it next and we're switching to clinched 4" flares as these 3.5" flares just aren't wide enough.
Here's a little more eye candy (if you can even call it that) for everybody. Expect even more by h2o. My onikyan escort race car fantasies may come true.
So did you buy it back or is it your friend doing all of this now?
I did most everything to the car leading up to EuEx cause the car was with me in NC and my friend was living in PA but he just came down like 2 weeks ago to pick the car up and trailered it back to PA, so from now on whatever goes on with the car doesn't have anything to do with me. I'm working on my W202 sitting on 15x12 -76 & 15x14 -89 which I'll make a thread on at some point.
