Pull the rear seats and belts. Unplug speakers and 3rd brake lamp if you have one. It's pretty simple. The carpet pulls up pretty easy too.

Swapped in a set of euro lamps, waiting on my grilles still.


Started ripping the bumpers off for a tuck. I painted them black as well.


Lots of work to get done. I'll probably swap the TRX wheels back on and start getting these Style 5's broken down and stripped. I still need to finish the interior and weld up the front coilovers. That and my exhaust is about ready to fall off so, I need to address that at some point too. Turd Ferguson is looking a whole lot better already

Things happened this weekend. Rear bumper is tucked

I got the front coilovers all welded up


And I got my jack stuck. New tires showed up today so, the style 5's came off for refinishing. This part is gonna suck!

I'm currently refinishing my (stock) style 5s as well.. Sanded so much I can't feel my fingertips..

Edit: off topic but, by chance, did you pick up the black interior from a guy named "Andy" in Columbus?

I started taking the bolts out of 1 wheel and realized how much suck this is about to be. Didn't pick it up from an Andy. I cant remember the guys name but it was pretty unique.

Splitting wood or splitting wheels? These damn centers will not come out no matter what! I beat the hell out of em and gave up for the night. Any tips?

You have to warm the factory glue up in order to split the wheels.there are some relevant videos on 'tube..

I've never ever warmed the glue up on any of my wheels that I've split. Leave it in the house to get to room temp for about a day. Take a wood 2x4 and a heavy rubber mallet . Hit it like you mean it , one smack should do it .

Got the centers knocked out of the barrels. There was quite a bit of corrosion built up on 2 of them. Tomorrow the Jasco stripper is coming out and some 2Pac is gonna get cranked.


I cleaned up the garage a bit today but I did get the coilovers dialed in a little better and pulled the car out of the garage after buying a new battery. Looks alright on stock wheels!

2Pac and aircraft stripper! I used Jasco with a brush for 2 rounds and found a lot of left over spots, I happened to pick up a spray can version of it as well and used that to finish it off. After about 2 Hours I came up with this

The wet sanding will start tomorrow. Any tips are appreciated. I'm sure its gonna take forever and 1 wheel has a bit of rash that needs to be cleaned up. Also trying to debate what color to powder coat the centers.. Any suggestions? Too many choices!


Tossed the front bumper back on after some black paint, tucked it, added my plate filler and ripped it over to the car wash again. After a few miles of driving, I decided to soften the shock/strut settings to 8 from full soft. Seems a lot better now.

Gonna cruise it a bit tonight.

With wet sanding the lips, starting at 320, sanding perpendicular to the machining marks until they are gone, and then sanding diagonal in both directions with 400, 600, 800, and 1000 until sanding around the lips with 1500 and 2000 worked perfectly for me. You could probably skip some grits if you'd like. And for polishing I used a jewelry compound which gave me a mirror finish.

Did a bit of brainstorming and ended up sending my wheels out to a friend for paint. I should get those back sometime this week I hope. This past weekend I decided to remove the full interior and get my black carpet in and swap out the dash as well. Looks way better!!

The dash has cracks in it but it looks a lot better. My poor A/C doesn't work and its been swapped to R134A already. Theres a leak somewhere, I'll deal with it later. Shits coming together pretty good. Waiting on my wheels... stay tuned
