Sorry not hypereutectic I'm thinking about the AMX my old man and I are restoring, I'd actually have to go back and look at the coating option selected for the new pistons

Multiple motorsOriginally posted by rice4life View PostIt's better to buy it already swapped, it's mad expensive if you get an LS swap done by a shop, and if you do it yourself with conversion parts(harnesses, driveshaft, mounts, etc) the prices of parts and the time involved in doing it truly outweigh rebuilding the 13brew that can already put down as much hp on stock turbos as an LS1 with full bolt ons unless you plan for over 500 at the wheels reliably. I was working with a guy from illicit performance(local rotard shop) and he starts LS1 swaps at 9g's including the engine
I can't wait to see how well your f22 holds up with the current mods at the power levels you are shooting for! Is the rev limit going to be cut down due to the higher piston speed of a stroker kit, or did you decide to get it bored out? In one post you were talking about a stroker, and in another you said it was punched out. I'm a bit confused, sorry.
I bought a motor that's 2mm over on the pistons sleeved already and went with hypereutectic pistons with the understanding this motor wasn't the "Long Term" solution but would be strong enough to put down the power I want for the time I want (900hp) is the goal. It kind of fell into my lap as my tuner had it from his s2000 so I snagged it for 500 bucks and sent it off to inspection. With the head being built I'm planning on letting the tuner PLAY with going to 9000/9500.
The second motor will be stroked using an inline pro 2.4L kit and will be swapped in when I pull the NOVI1200 for some big number dyno queen fun... or maybe i'll grow up and want something practical. Right now I've been thinking about a 4 digit PT6870 or whatever the flavor of the year is.
It's more that I'm young, not married and may as well build the motor now and set it aside waiting while I can before there is a wife/kids

I couldn't justify 12-15K to buy the J's Racing motor :/ At this point I've gotten the boost bug and the power goals keep hiking!
As for the LS swapped cars, my present GF and I are looking at LS swapped FDs in the area as they are going for the same cost as a stock FD. Will spend the time and go through the car properly before actually driving it and enjoy it as a summer DD to replace the BRZ
and I'll go back to buying winter beaters

KEEP your eyes open, I bought a 2001 S2000 for 8000, with 100K on the odo, NFR good paint clean title bone stock. Couldn't sell it for 8500 with a mugen rep hardtop, greddy exhaust, berk HFC and a K&N intake... Ended up trading it in for 6000 bone stock and selling everything else to make up the differenceOriginally posted by Spectra Phantom View PostWhere? I go buy nao! Where?
I'm in MA, so the S2Ks I've seen for sale are around for 14-20K. Even a Rebulit S is being asked for 13K. Granted an AP2 but still a Rebuilt title.....

On paper it sounds fantastic, but in a lot of commonly swapped applications(FC t2's/FD Rx7's, s13's, s14's) the price really outweighs the benefit when you are looking for good performance on a budget when the stock block can easily outperform an LS1 and early LS6's without breaking the bank.
Why didn't you just go out an buy a J's Racing F22c if you wanted to be like their touge/demonstration car?

But that being said I did a ton of research into a LS swapped s2000 and while I would LOVE to have one and probably will down the road, a lot of the competitive s2000s on the circuit either run supercharged or turbo applications :/

Grab one!Originally posted by UpperClass View PostDamn I've always really wanted one of these and this is making me feel that again.
Side note, just purchased valve springs and retainers... time will tell where the new motor will redline at... Also going to drop off the blown motor to get sleeved as a backup with the plan to run an inline pro 2.4L stroker kit on that... should be on the road in <30 days if things go as planned

In all fairness my last daily driver before the BRZ was a 2001 S2000 that I put a header back exhaust on, intake, tune and hankook RS3 tires and was a blast. Before that I had a 2001 GSR that was a blastOriginally posted by FRSBrndn View PostI was diggin' it until you said the BRZ is the most boring car on earth... You must not have driven many cars have you? lol I kid, I kid.
Before that I owned this

I shouldn't say it's boring, it is an AMAZING daily driver I'm just torn because I want to supercharge it and yet this car has been SUCH a headache and I am not in love with the car enough to look at spending this much money on that car :/
Still waiting to hear back on the actual new displacement... at this point the cars been down for a year so it's more of a I'm excited to drive it but sick of hearing about it ordealOriginally posted by M.Doban View PostAhh, sorry to hear about the engine! I love the build though. Very tastefully done. I like where it's going too. Keep it up! I'm anxious to see the power with the sleeved block (I've always wanted one of those lol)
Get one, I want one to be designated as a cheap track car. In New england they can be grabbed for 6-8K in modest shape with around 100K miles on them!Originally posted by FunfGang View PostHell yeah, all for threads that make me **** not owning one.

I really wanted to but couldn't justify the cost when I was with the X GFOriginally posted by TeckniX View PostShouldve just gone ls3 or j32 turbo. Done!
Hope you get it all done soon and we get vidz of boost
Something about getting married and settling down?

Top Fuel s2000

Current best lap at fuji speedway
The LS s2000 would just be EXTREMELY reliable to drive around in and an absolute blast so someday perhaps!
