Hello Everyone!
I'm from the great white north AKA Canada, in particular northern Ontario. I've been following many builds on this website and only recently decided to become a member and to post up my own build.
The community here is incredible, with so many fabulous cars and the quality of work is out of this world. Some of the guys on here are crazy talented, and I hope to one day possess such skill.
I spent the last 5 or so years working as an air frame technician all over Canada, and along the way have picked up some skills, which I hope will assist me in my build. I've been crazy about cars for as long as I can remember. Everything from jacked up trucks, to imports, to good old american muscle. I was always in the garage tinkering with something, usually doing preventative maintenance.
I've always wanted to do a full out build of a car, but I just jumped from platform to platform like it was going out of style. I went from a 92 Accord beater, to a jeep, to a Maxima, then back to a jeep, then back to nissan, and two years ago I purchased my first new car. It was a 2013 Acura ILX Dynamic. I loved it for all of about 6 months, at which point I had also purchased a 2004 Subaru wrx with a blown engine. Decided to swap in an ej207 V7. The wrx was fun but it was something that I bought just to flip and make a quick buck.
I've owned an array of vehicles both domestic and imported, but I've never dipped my foot into the euro market. Last summer I traded in my ILX for a 2010 Tundra in hopes to maybe get a business going, but being enrolled in university full time, it was really hard to do. While searching through the classifieds, I stumbled upon a 2004 Subaru WRX STI, which I quickly scooped up and brought home. The price was just too good, and I couldnt let it pass by, but it did need some body work as the northern winters and salt had chewed right through the fenders. At this point school had rolled around and I had way too many vehicles so I decided to sell the sti and the truck.
At this point my father had picked up a new car and sold me his Toyota Venza, which was a very boring car, but I needed a car to get from A to B.
I started looking around for another STI, but the bavarian bug had snuck around and bit me. Before I knew it I was driving 4 hours away to pick up a 2007 BMW 335i. I've always wanted to own one, but when the time came to switch vehicles, they were always overpriced and second on my list. I got to the dealership, drove it, and fell in love. I left them a deposit while they got the safety done, and the next day I came to grab it. I left the Venza in the rear view, and drove away with a huge smile on my face.
Sorry for the long rant, here are some pictures. Forgive me if they dont work properly this is my first time posting on stanceworks.
I don't think I have any pictures of my first few cars, Ill have to look if anyone is actually interested. This is my first Jeep, It was a 2000 Cherokee that I had lifted 3" and slapped on some 31" Goodyear M/T's

Probably one of the cars that I regret selling the most would be my Altima SE-R. This thing was a blast to drive. I had installed a RacingLine strut bar, lowering springs, some knock off rims, and a dvd dash w/ subwoofers. It was my "I wish I had this car in high school" car. It was just a blast to drive. I dont remember why I sold it. I did pick up a 2010 TL afterwards though, but I missed driving manual so much that I got rid of that that not long after.

And heres the day that I traded in the TL and picked up my ILX.

This would be the wrx that I picked up, it was almost mint, owned by an older gentleman that had passed away and it sat for a couple of years, when she tried to sell it the first time it blew up. I guess from sitting so long?

Then I decided to trade in the ILX for a tundra, the dealer let me drive my ILX until I completed the work needed to get a safety done on my pick up.

Another one of my vehicles was an 04 STI. I purchased new front fenders, bumper, and trunk for it because the rust was so bad and bumpers were beat up. I had it for the better part of the year but at the time I had too many vehicles and needed to get rid of at least one.

Heres a few snaps from a local car meet.

Anyways, onto the main event. My e92. I picked it up with 130kms on the clock. 6 speed manual with just about every package, but no bluetooth.

The last picture I was at event called "Snow Attack" in just north of Montral QC which was hosted by Lachute Performance. I went with a good friend and fellow subaru enthusiast of mine. Did a few laps with him as copilot, at which point his forester developed a pretty significant fuel leak somewhere near the injectors and we decided to call it a day.
The first mod I did was going to a local exhaust shop and getting them to cut my mufflers out and put in some straight pipes. This guy does incredible work. I always go to him for anything exhaust related. He also ordered some 3.5" double walled magnaflow tips for me, which I returned for the next day.

Anyways, I picked up my e92 and right away started looking at mods. I always wanted to run a set of coilovers on many of my vehicles, but just never got around to it. I didnt want to buy new coilovers and started searching through the forums and classifieds when I stumbled on an AirRex air ride kit with switchspeed controler for my car. I was intrigued because I always loved cars whether bagged or static, but never actually thought about going bagged because it was quite pricey. The kit was complete minus the air lines. I emailed the guy, but was still half set of coilovers. We went back and fourth for a bit as I did more research and I decided to pull the trigger. Jumped in the car and drove 3 hours to grab it. When I showed up, as usual, we shot the sh*t for a bit, I checked the contents, gave him his cash and was on my way.

All I have is a crappy phone picture of the kit I bought, but you get the point. I was thinking to do some more research and order some more parts before beginning the air ride install as the weather up here has been fairly frigid and showed almost no signs of warming up, but this took a huge turn. This week was incredibly warm and I decided that while I wait for my lines, among other things to show up I would start the build.
Today I sent the air tank to get powdercoated flat black. I also went and got some plywood and trunk carpeting.
I always admired the hardwood trunk that some people make to compliment their airride/car. I think that maybe down the road I will do something like that. For now lets keep it simple. I decided to use 5/8" thick wood and some think black carpet I found at a rug shop in town.

I pulled out the middle part of the trunk liner to use as a template on the wood, which I then cut out, and sanded. Fit like a glove.

I opted to use some of the 3M spray adhesive and some small nails to help hold the fabric on. It was a mess, I definitely recommend using latex gloves, glue was everywhere.

I managed to finish the carpeting, and Im letting it sit in the basement with some small weights on it to let it dry. I will continue to update my thread as much as I can, at this point Im just sitting around waiting for parts to arrive.
Hope you guys enjoy
