New page new update I guess. I put my Grip Royal in...

Now originally I was saving up for a decent set of wheels to roll to H2o on. I was in the market for a set of RFs or Futuras realistically. I was also going to repaint all my interior as stated before and I still might do that butttttttt.

      I bought another car

Its an 86 535i, M30 5 speed. Now the car had been sitting on and off for the past two years but the guy selling it works with a very close friend of mine so I decided to take a look at the car. Realistically I wasn't expecting much for the price he was looking to get, but I looked under neath and checked to see if it was solid etc and everything was good. The body was in OK shape and the interior needs a bit of buttoning up and refurbishing. I asked if it runs, he put a battery in it and it fired right up.

Had the car towed to my work and I gave it a wash, pulled the carpet back to check for rust and honestly I can't find but two spots on this car. I am so pleased. Now the engine will need a bit of a tune up to be expected but I'll sort that out. Suspension wise it came with a ton of new parts so I'm gonna pull the rear subframe and replace all suspension and brake components front and rear etc. At some point I'll make a separate thread for it. For now I've got a little bit of maintenance to give to the S10 before the trip to H2oi. Once thats taken care of I will give the truck a good polish and go on my way. Hopefully more updates soon

            Slight update:

Changed out my door pins and it was the best $4 I have ever spent on my truck

Like most S10s, this one was plagued with a loud, saggy door and it got to the point where i wasnt able to shut my door without slamming the shit out of it. It also helped bring the door back in line with the fender and extended cab door.

I also found a blazer grille at the local pick n pull while looking for a sonoma hood.

Mine has an aftermarket replacement grille that was put in at some point and it fits like dooky. It also doesnt like to hold my marker lights in very well and is embarrassing showing up somewhere with a light hanging out lol.

Test fit to ensure OEM fitment, the chrome will be stripped down to plastic, primed, and painted. Another issue I have with my grille is the shitty paint job I put on it before I knew how to paint. Story behind it was I had a night at the shop to strip, paint and install grille in 2 hours. Naturally I made a mess. I used the worst clear we had, used one coat, ran the piss out of it, and actually melted the grille with the heat light. 2 years later its stone chipped and a lot of the chrome is actually showing through the grille lol.

TLDR my grille is an eyesore. Im throwing in some new brake hoses and pads this weekend as well. While im there Im probably going to spray some rubber undercoat on the frame since I have some laying around so Ill take some pictures of that I guess

#h2oprep brooooooooo. Gotta love people going all out on there cars just in time for the winter haha. However I am partially guilty. Here is some progress I made tonight

Got the grille prepped and painted

              Sealer

              Based/cleared

              Installed

If you saw my old grille, you would understand how big of an upgrade this is lol. I used a much better product this time around and my finish work has improved vastly.

I installed new brake hoses but no pix of that. I went to change the pads but they had plenty of beef on them so I left them be. While I was there I painted my frame

Only thing I'm going to do before I head down is change my oil, and put on a 94-97 valence. Also I went to a custom exhaust shop to get my flex pipe fixed. I was dissapointed that they couldn't do anything because of where the transmission pan and bell housing interferes with the clearance. Actually my pan itself is taking some real damage so I'm going to have to 5 speed swap it. Not like that's a bad thing of course. Lol hopefully nothing bad happens at h2o for me, wish me luck guys. Also say hi to me

Blew up my transmission on the way down

I had everything ready to go down there, even peeled off the Lamin-x from my headlights

I was upset at first but I feel it looks much better now. But on my way there as soon as I got on the highway the transmission started making a strange noise and I ended up losing 2nd, 4th, and reverse. Could I have driven it there? Probably, but I didn't feel like taking the risk. I was pretty upset and contemplated even going but I got a ride to my friends house where I took his daily driver. It was a decent time but I definitely could have had a much better time, there's always next year. So now I'm debating on keeping the truck at this point, ive put a lot of time and energy into it and I enjoy driving it but now I'll have blown an engine and a transmission. I kind of want to build my E28, because I feel like I would regret selling it to fund this project. Who knows, I'm so back and forth between the matter.

But the E28 is already a 5 speed, and its an E28

I think you've come too far with this to just ditch it because the transmission shit out lol

Youre right, but its not economical for me to have 3 projects. Im also building a 48 Harley Davidson Panhead FL that I need to get finished by the spring time. And to be honest, I love this truck but Id much rather walk out to my driveway and see an E28 sitting there. Either way im fixing the truck because I wont sell it broken lol

I'm really excited to see what's in store for the e28 tbh. Call me biased but i grew up around a 350 swapped, tubbed s10 with ladder bars so both platforms hold a place deep in my heart.
                                Choose wisely Steve.
