    Nice Build!
Im also building M40 Turbo but an b16 with T3 turbo.
Ran with 0,3 bars of boost and 535 injectors but now im changing head gasket because the first run it had probs with the boost so i topped at 1,1 bar

So the plan now is same setup but with 350cc injectors and E85! Dont realky know how much boost yet but i guess ill run with 0,7 before i get bigger injectors

This thread is awesome, I am really looking into doing this to my m43b16, I have no idea where to get the oil feed and oil return though, I also want to know what injectors I can use that are bolt on, no mods, did you make the manifold yourself? Thanks

        Love your build !
I am also doing something similar with my M40 E30 but i am trying to make it as reliable as possible.
What static compression ratio are you running with that parts combination ?
        M43 has 9.7:1
        m40 has 8.8:1
The M40 right out of the box is great for a low boost aplication ,max 0.8bar , but at 1.5bar+ like you are trying to run you will brake rings and blow head gaskets all day long.
I have been documenting this for a long time before i started , my configuration is as follows

M40 block just because i already have it and need it to stay matching numbers for inspection
        M43 head with timing chain
        M42 forged crank
        M40 rods
M40 pistons with N47 piston rings
King race bearings , mains and rods
        M42 MLS head gasket
        full ARP hardware
        synapse wastegate
        K-data ECU
        wideband and electronic boost control.
My goal is to have a potent daily driver and occasional track toy.
I want multiple maps for it , 0.5-0.6 bar for DD and 1.3-1.4bar for track use , this way will probably stay healthy for a long time.
I haven't begun assembly because i still need a few important parts , exhaust manifold and turbo.
My fabrication skills suck and i cant find someone around here who can build me a exhaust manifold. The thing is that i want to keep A/c and also bottom mount the turbo witch is not that easy.

There is a plug on the oil filter housing ,front of engine behind the belts ,that's where you can get your oil feed , then tap the sump for oil return.

Its an e36 that had a lot of time and work poured into it and does not run. It qualifies.

Hi guys... i'm sorry i haven't answered or posted anything for a while.. sometimes life gets in the way

First of all.. any engine that is built by BMW or germans overall.. can handle atleast 100hp per cylinder if tuned correctly. That is actually with most engines in the world, not only BMW...
It doesn't matter if it's a m40, m43 or m42.. block is the same for all of them and.

After that last picture i got the car running, and it has been running good if not considering small problems like header constantly cracking and idle problems.

So with that K29 turbo i ran 1bar of boost using 4x440cc@3bar injectors with 3,5bar fuel pressure.. at 1,1 bar they were 110% duty cycle, and as i didn't have proper fuel pump to use all 8 injectors, i turned it down a bit.

Ran a quartermile of 13,62 seconds, so about 280hp from engine... that is with a fast made tune running rich and safe ignition.

                Then it looked like this:

NOW, i took it apart, rewelded the header and also painted the intake i modified a little earlier.
Also made a quick spool valve(before i just closed one of the entrys, now it should be better).

Next month hoping to get on a dyno and full tune - going for 400+bhp.

This is how it looks at the moment.

Fetka... i'm not here to argue about noones taste and opinion, but in my eyes my usually very common e36 looks good and also a little different if compared to others
I don't think "stance" as a style, should be defined as a "non-driveable-constantly-scraping-with-cambered-out-wheels-that-have-no-grip-what-so-ever."

Every racecar is a showcar, but not every showcar is a racecar.

Damn! The resemblance between that and the MB M102 is uncanny, except the BMW version is far better and doesn't have as many flaws. This is going to be so rad man! In for more pics of fabricating.
