  • Bagged B7 Passat - A Simple Daily

Hey guys, I've got another build thread on here which is way more of a real build then this one will be, but anyways I recently sold my 2003 wrx and bought a 2012 VW Passat 2.5l 5-cyl with low miles. Something very reliable as a daily for my commute to and from school....
With the help of Eric www.highintakeperformance.com I got a deal on Airlift Slam Series bags that I couldn't pass up...

    My past and current cars:

Bags should be here by next weekend, not positive when I will be able to install them however.. Just tinted windows at 5% rear and doing 20% front and waiting for 3K HIDs to come in the mail... still playing out wheel options in my head... feel free to shoot me suggestions!

Got the bags installed but now having power issues... hooked the compressor to cigarette lighter so it kicks on with ignition but whenever I go to start the car the dash lights blink but it wont turn over as if it doesnt have enough power to start. so i jumped it and it started right up, when I took it off the cables it died right away. I disconnected the power wire from the compressor to battery, charged the batter for an hour and the car started right up.... any clue whatsup??

Picture for talking, need to get the rear lower..

It's possible you've just got a battery hanging onto the fringes of life, but draw up a quick diagram of how you've got the compressor wired, and I'll check it over to make sure something goofy isn't happening.

Yeah. These VW batteries dont last very long. 3-4 years and since you live in vt the extreme changes in climate wont help. What part of vt are you from?

I sent you a message of the diagram, thanks!

            I live in Brattleboro, VT

Just had another check over the wiring and refer to the diagram and everything looked fine... I'm thinking that because we had doors open all night dur to running airlines, compressor going for testing heights and never turning the car on that we just drained the poor battery dead. Charging now and will hopefully have luck shortly

What does this deserve for wheels??

Haven't posted in quite a while - Got my wheels on about two weeks ago and brought it to it's first show. Got lots of attention but still missing something big, cant put my finger on it.
New rear shocks coming soon to drop the back more

I'm a big fan of saloons so I like this quite a bit. The B7 is easily my fav body too.
It's quite interesting how the back end of the Passat's is different here in Europe, the number plate is on the bumper instead of the trunk.
Which gives me an idea of possibly converting the rear? That could be an option seeing as you're keen to mess about with it and I presume it would stand out a bit too as I can't imagine there being a lot of them in America.

                      This is clean! Awesome, man.
Any thoughts about painting your rear emblem black? Looks real good on white cars.

Wow, the USDM rear looks so much better than the EUDM version I see around all the time.

Great ride man, love the wheels!

Ehh that isn't really my thing, I really like a clean understated look. With that said I'll be getting body work and paint done to remove the front and rear emblems completely.

Thanks man! I haven't seen any EUDM rears, but if theyre the same shape I may want to switch just for some euro flavor

A few new shots, got the rear shocks in and am now tucking rear wheels as well, much happier now. Going to keep it like this for a bit I think until winter time, then it's time to shave all the badges and fill the crescent spot in in my hood.

How the Passat is sitting currently, wrapped roof gloss black, got a fresh detail before our event last Sunday and took off the side vinyls
