  • DarknStrange Version 2.0

This is the start of my slow build thread. I'm sure some things I do to my car won't be liked by all, but I'm building I for me.

Starting out as a 2003 LS Sport 2 Dr

    Plans are as follows-

Corvette saw blade wheels- 17x8.5 F/ 17x9.5 R et+56(I know it's been done before but the wheels were cheap and will suit my plans perfectly)

    245/40 F -255/40 R

    2" 5x100-5x120 hubcentric. Adapters 57.1mm hub bore

2" carbon fiber flares at all 4 corners

BC extreme drop Coilovers with 8k/7k swift springs

Faux alligator skin headliner, door inserts, center console lid

Haven't chosen new seats yet but I'm looking for something more comfortable

    Wood grain steering wheel

And little touches here or there
    ----------

I'm just building a fun, clean summer driver. Just waiting till some warmer weather here in northern ohio before I install the Coilovers. The wheels are currently being tried and the curb rash taken care of. Should have them back on monday

      Got the Coilovers installed.

Waiting on my wheels to get back from having curb rash repaired.

Yes I know it needs a bath. As soon as the weather is above 10° it will get a wash and wax!!

Definitely not my favorite of the 3 different faces of this generation of cavalier, but I have always found the cavalier to be not too bad of a platform to "stance" (sorry if I offended someone by saying that) the way the body tapers at the bottom is perfect for aggressive fitment imo. Any plans to do an irs swap? i have always wanted to see another irs swapped cavalier since the end Jeff Wybrow's cavalier build. But anyways it looks great! Look forward to seeing the sawblades mounted.

I don't have any plans to do an irs swap this year. Maybe next winter while the car is squirreled away. I'd like to enjoy the car this summer before delving into serious fabrication or motor builds. I do have a few ideas for the future but I don't think it could ever compare to wybrows cavalier.(was my inspiration for the vette wheels.)

Yeah it should do fine with the rear beam as long as you got all your offsets correct. Back in the days where i actually wanted a cavalier (believe it or not) there was a build on j-body.org that was sitting pretty good on the beam.

Yeah the twist beam rear sucks! My plans are still to run 2" flares and cut the fenders to allow the saw blades to sit at a final offset of +6. I'm still debating about ordering wider rear adapters to put the rears at a 0 offset

Snagged up a diamond audio d3 dvc with box and amp for $60 locally.

Also while putting my Coilovers on I noticed a set of 205/50/17 sitting in the corner of my brother in laws garage. After a quick chat he said he just wanted them gone. So I liberated them and decided to try my hand at a little stretch. The 205/50 will keep my Speedo and abs happy as it's pretty close to overall diameter of factory wheels/tires

Are you gonna take the brake cleaner and fire approach or try and find someone to do it?

Haha I would gladly trade you some of that warm so-cal sunny weather. Being stuck inside and unable to work on my car stinks. I'm dying for spring to get here. I've got so much to do...

So I couldn't take the chrome wheels anymore and I'm waiting for my vette wheels to get back from having the lips and insets polished before they go off to powdercoat

                            Just a quick pic

A little teaser....powdercoat was out of my current budget so i broke down and began painting my sawblades. Here is a little teaser

Also got my cat delete pipe finally so i can get my new exhaust put in and tucked up tightly so im not dragging into my driveway anymore...not exciting enough for a pic tho.
