    Updeed madafakaaahs

so this week i've recieved some stuff

    SEM Color Coat Landau black

i thought it was finally time to refurbish the old and faided parts of the dashboard and other miscellaneous parts.

so first thing's first; gutted the interior:

    removed the back seat.

started with the parcel shelf/speaker holders. after 4 layers it looked really good:

and because when it comes to parts i have a small ocd. can't stand the possibility of different shades of black plastic in my interior ; so i took out most of the parts that i could:

time to do a bigger part: the shift cluster:

and since the fuel cap had some silver overspray from the time i did the fenders; i took the time to paint these as well

and ofcourse the plastic inserts of the window winders.

the next day my new leather shift cover(?) came in as well as the parcel shelf holders.

it was quite a pain in the ass to get it stretched over the insert but i got it done. not really happy about the finish, so i'm probably going to make a new leather peace with the rest material i got from the trunk panels.

    assembly time:

    before:

really happy how the trunk came out: can't wait to install the subwoofer suitcase.

    some small parts:

    and the dashboard first:

    and now:

i will lower the leather cover btw:

    final shot:

so excited since the interior is almost done for now except for the suitcase in the trunk ofcourse. next step is the notch and slamming it.

in the meantime i'm saving up hard for a wheel respray and repair. one wheel has a small bend; and another has some rash.

i probably have some money left for small exterior parts, so i'll stay busy.

let me know what ya think

thanks!, and yeah like i said earlier, i'm totally done with the red color and really want them color coded with the rest of the car. it's probably the first expensive thing i'll do after i finish the interior parts. i'm still saving up for that because when i have them resprayed, i kinda want new rear barrels, chromed hex caps and new tires. and that shit doesn't come cheap.

aight, so i've got a little update,

last month i got my fancy strips in the mail.

    and installed them right away

    floor back in again

then i was on the look out for a nice fabric for the sides.

    but this happend:

this was one tuesday ; fucking 3 days before the mid wintermeet. i couldn't get a spare part on time to switch them, so i freaking missed that meeting. not a good start for this year

so i went to a garage close to me and luckily they could weld up my old bracket.

so after a few rounds of grunting, swearing and all of that, i finally got the motherfucker out of the engine bay.

but i fucked up the bolt while getting it out.

so i brought it to the garage; they got the bolt out and welded up my bracket again.

while the car stood still, i decided to quickly respray the valve cover and distribution cover again.
looks a bit cleaner, altough i still want them to paint them in wrinkle black one day.

picked up the bracket again; and installed all the parts

So after that the car runs like a champ again. i didn't drove it for two weeks and had to use public transport. so i was really happy to drive it again.

i decided i needed to respark my love for the car, so that's why i slapped on the RM's

it really needs a drop, but i'll wait untill i have notched the front before slamming it on it's balls first.

Today i finally had time to work on te trunk panels.

    found a nice fabric

    panel numero uno

    and that makes two:

i also ordered a new leather cover for the shift stick, two new rubber holders for the parcel shelf and SEM dashboard spray to refurbish the old and ugly parts.

busy for school again, probably have some time this saturday

haha i know right; when the trunk is finished i'll be done with all the woodwork that's going into this car for now. might be making my own shiftknob in the future but we'll see.

btw next sunday there's a VW meeting so that means its finally time for my summer wheels again. i actually wanted to notch the front before i'd be going to meetings, but i want to do a proper notch instead of just cutting shit away. sucks i cant really slam it before sunday, at least i'll give this thing a good bath and clean up for the meet. it definitely deserves one atm.

    small update again

when i went for a small vacation with the gf, the car died on me on the highway.

turned out the alternator decided it no longer wanted to live anymore, so that kinda messed up my plan and budget for the last few weeks.

ordered a new one because the costs of refurbishing the old one where pretty close.

    new alternator:

so the next weekend i thought, let's swap em over real quick and move over to the trunk set up again. no way in hell that i could get this alternator fit right in. pulled it out again*giggity* and layed them next to each other

well fuck i ordered the wrong one. talked to the seller a bit, send him some pics and it seemed that he send out the wrong one. anyway i needed to wait another week.

so i used my frustrations to buff up the RM's again.

    got stretch?

tbh i'm completey done with the color of the wheels and the strech; but it i'll have to do for now. only plus side it has is that i can go retarded low, so that's the plan for 2016. i'll be swapping the tires for some 185/45's after they've been refurbished and resprayed.

yesterday i finally had some time to install the right alternator.

drove home again to work on the trunk. wanted to make the sides of the parcel shelf holders

already put some clear coat on the floor so that turned out decent.

    cardbox mold:

    drawn on the mdf

almost perfect in 1 cut out.

and after some tweaks and an corner.

    that's one side done.

    other side made as well

    tadaaa

soo, i've been saving up again wich means; time for parts

i'll order these 45cm strips for the wooden floor this week:

    - i'll be looking out for some fabric that matched the parcel shelf for the side panels.
    - swapping that fugly trunk sealing rubber thingy.
    - and one parcel shelf hanging cord has broken which results in my shelf having a ghetto lean in the pictures above.

    that's all folks
