  • Project Betty White aka not everyones cup of tea

Bored at work so I'm making my own build thread here...more of just to keep track of what's going on because I have the memory of a lab rat and can't remember anything.

I bought this 07 SE from a friend as my BMW 528iT was dying on me and I was tired of throwing money at it, so here we go.

All of you know what a base model Nissan Maxima SE looks like so I'll refrain from posting those pics.

This is basically after the first round of mods. 5% tint, XXR 006 wheels (I know, I know) and billet upper and lower grills.

    Next was an Injen intake.

With the Wifes Sentra. 2013 SR which she had me de-badge the day we brought it home.

And with our 86 VW Cabriolet project in the back ground.

Got bored one weekend so I added some vinyl stripes to the sides. The Storm Trooper look was getting a little old to me.

    Goofing off with some friends.

Another bored weekend so I decided to do some plastics painting. It turned out like booboo so I need to strip it and redo it again.

Added some LED reverse bulbs and debaged everything.

So that brings us up to the most recent mods. All of this has happened in the last year and I've wanted more lows so I sprang for some BC c/o's after Christmas and an eBay exhaust. The guy that did the install for me is taking my XXRs in trade for the work so I bought some Enkei wheels that need some love. They're in the final stages of being refinished now but they are 19x8.5.

And the wheels. This will probably be it for a while, I just need to bring the front down a little more.

Also installed the NWP blockoff plate this past weekend, no pics though.

I'm sure some of this is out of order in which I did things.

Also, I know it's not low enough. Comments and criticism are welcomed.

Got the roof painted black while I was on vacation. Also, re-refinishing my wheels because they turned out horrible. The black paint wouldn't stick at all on one of the wheels so they are being stripped again and polished completely.

So far so good. All I can suggest is to remove the stripes, get some spacers and pick up a lip kit and it will be on point. Oh yeah, center caps too.

Yeah, the stripes are going. Haven't figured out what size spacers to get yet, maybe just a 10mm and I don't really like the lip kits for these cars but thanks for the comment.

Find out the offset of your enkei's, then figure out how thick of a spacer you would need to get it to your target offset. 10mm is too thin, and I doubt that if you got a bolt on spacer that thin it would be safe. I would suggest trying to aim for +15 offset all the way around.

There's my favorite 6th gen maxi pad. Remember, sometimes simpler is better.

I do agree about the lip kits. Maybe you could do Stillen sides and rear with a DB front lip?

Thanks for the help, I'll figure out what the offset is this weekend when I take them off. I believe it's 38, can't remember though.

Some new pics. Got the wheels done again and picked up some new lights. Not too keen on the halos but they were already installed so what can you do? Next on the list is spacers still, more low in the front and audio install.

Spacers + more low would do wonders, but you already know that.

The stripes on the rocker panels keep catching my eye. I keep thinking you accidentally closed the seatbelt in the door, but maybe that's just because I own horrible old cars with worn-out seatbelt retractors.

I think you're off to a good start. What are the plans for the audio install?

Lower in the front is happening this weekend.

Lol! I keep meaning to take the stripes off, just never get around to it. Too many squirrel moments at my house.

Audio will be a simple build. I'm not one for big, booming speakers. The car came with double sound deadening, not Dyna-mat but it's the same thing. Pioneer x90bt double din, Alpine S-drive 6.5" in the doors and kick panels, Alpine tweeters as well in the front doors. Kicker 8" subs in the deck. I've got a shallow box those are in that I'll mount under the parcel tray, then transfer the rear stock grills to the box so it look stock from inside the cabin, a complete re-wire with Monster Cable and a couple of MTX amps for power. The guy that had the car before me did some shitty wiring work when he yanked all the Bose components out, just would feel better about things with some proper wiring.

Nice to see a 6th gen here on Stanceworks! I too have a 05 Maxima with JIC coils and MRR HR3s.

I like the painted billet grill and make sure you remove those side skirt flaps before you drop the car lower! Let's see how low those BC coils go
