Volvo P1800 Restoration

Did a decent amount of grinding, and some welding. I ran out of gas on Sunday

Repaired the old inner right rear quarter, and installed the new patch skin.

I still have to finish welding all the new panels fully, mostly everything is just tacked into place.

Weld, Seam Sealer, Epoxy prime, and then I can base the inside of the car.

He's decided on a color. Aviemore Blue from Aston Martin

Got some supplies for tomorrows fun on the Volvo.

Epoxy DP for the underside of the floor pans, some seam sealer, and some rust fighter cavity wax for the insides of the new panels

Don't have any photos on hand but my neighbor and I tucked his 1800ES' bumpers. It's pretty simple to do and works wonders as far as oem+ looks goes.

Awesome work, do you tac weld the sheats just for alignment and hold? or do u use filler and seam sealer to finish? Love the car, I think I saw one driving around my area this past summer I had no idea what it was!

It'll look nice with the Aviemore blue and I have no interest in slamming it. Here is a rendering in that Aviemore blue, its not perfect but it helps me realize what it might look like when finished:

Tac weld for fitment first , then seam welded once everything is aligned where I wanted it.
Seam sealer both on the lapped joints on the inside of the car, and the butt welded patches they are rust proofed from behind.



Then of course seam sealed. I use Fusor800DTM because it's a panel bond agent that can be direct to metal and is paintable up to 30 days.
