    Unpacked Lucy last night.

This is the cracked barrel that caused some dramas to say the least.

I have to get the tyre cut off and dismantle the wheel. Have already contacted Whitehorse Industries in regards to getting a new barrel made. They're not open till the 18th of January so will be a bit of a wait until she's back on the RS'.

Took her for a very necessary wash last night as well. I found the local car wash, and it is relatively cheap.

Sorry again for potato photos. I really ought to get my camera out, but she doesn't look any good so don't see the point.

Made it 611km's at this height.

Hit the subframe three times, only one smack I was actually worried about and pulled over to check the damage.

Now it's a matter of unpacking the car when I get home tonight and splitting the front RS so I can measure up for a new barrel so I can contact Whitehorse and order a new barrel.

So quick update, got in Friday night late and started on the car yesterday. Sammy came around and we hung out all day, was fucking awesome hanging with old mates again.

So the weather here is ridiculous. It was around 40 degrees celsius so I went and grabbed some shorts from Kmart around the corner. This Kmart is where I used to drive the Subaru stupidly.

Anyway, got back home after stunting a bit on the RS'. Then changed over to the stock wheels that Mum transported from Ballarat for me.

Parked up behind Sammy's daily Allroad after going to grab a grommet for the wiper delete finally. I had a Stance|Works sticker hiding the hole that was there from the wiper delete and figured it was finally time to change to a grommet.

Then we went to catch up with another mate for dinner. Unfortunately he didn't show, sucked a bit, but hopefully see him soon anyway.

And this was this morning parked up outside. It was my little sisters last ballet concert here in Adelaide before Mum and her move to Ballarat permanently.

So the car is pretty much ready to go for the drive back to Ballarat tomorrow night. I've got to pack the RS' in the car so they don't fly everywhere, as well as some other left over 16" RS parts. Sorry for the phone photos again, my camera doesn't really come with me places anymore.

Maybe I should get it out again...

    Also contacted Swift Springs.
Rumour has it that I am getting some 4" 24k front springs for the Golf in early January.

    I am running a 215/40/18 on a 18x9 and a 225/40/18 on a 18x10.5.
The rear stretch is a bit insane, but it is what it is.

The front issue is because I had piece of paper clearance between the barrel and the strut. Note for next time, run a 3mm slip on for the front left hand side wheel.

Waiting in the airport, hanging to see Lucy again.
Blows my mind how much a car can contribute to my mental health. Oh well, such is life.

I am about two hours early for my flight, but not even mad. Gives me time to watch over the talent here at the airport.

Flying back to Adelaide tonight to fix the car over the weekend.
Then driving her back home where she will stay stock until I pull the wheels apart and fix them. Probably end up being mid next year when I do fix them.

I bought a WOT box and am going to get an exhaust setup so I can pop flames.

Okay, so because I took photos on my trip, I figured I'd add them to the story above.

They're phone photos, but they'll do. Basically I left Ballarat around 8pm. My one and only stop was supposed to be Bordertown (about halfway in the trip). Got the obligatory fuel pump photo.

Parked up to go to the toilet after paying for fuel etc.

Snapchat-4324028765170371418~2 by Sebastien Peek, on Flickr

So from there I had about, another 300km's to go. I made it halfway before the first tyre blow out and then had the debead. This is Lucy parked up around 0300 at Bridgestone in Murray Bridge.

Snapchat-5315407453903526055~2 by Sebastien Peek, on Flickr

Have to admit, rolling on the debeaded tyre meant that the lhs rear was rubbing the entire 8km's I drove. I have burnt paint now. But I don't even give a fuck.

Parked up at Mum's at 0920.

So, I reckon the right rear debeaded because I was running the steelie. I am not 100% sold on the idea, but it might have been why.

And this is Lucy left at Mum's for the week.

So, what is happening now? Well, the stock wheels are either a) going with Mum back to Adelaide on Friday or b) being put on a truck to get taken back on Wednesday. All depends on whether they'll fit in Mum's car when I try it out tonight.

Then, I am flying to Adelaide Friday night after work. What a fucking mission.

    This weekend was fucked.

I lie. The weekend was fine, but the drive to Adelaide was absolutely fucked.

Got about 400km's in and a front barrel cracked. Swapped to full size spare to get me home. 100km's later a rear debeaded. I was about 8km's out of Murray Bridge. It took about an hour to get there. Babied her like a boss.

Got to Murray Bridge and slept in the car. Woke up to some old bloke from Bridgestone asking if I needed a hand. He was shocked to hear I drove 8km's debeaded and the tyre wasn't destroyed. Refitted it and kept driving to Adelaide, got there about 0920.

Spent the first three hours in Adelaide trying to find tyres. 215/40 and 225/40 is difficult to find. Gave up, got picked up by Dad from Mum's place and partied Saturday night, then had Volksfest Sunday (which is why I was driving the Golf over).

Such is life. Lucy is stuck in Adelaide for the week. I'm back in Ballarat and waiting for the train to depart to Melbourne. I am late for work but I don't give a fuck.

So, Lucy is back on the ground with her high heels on.

Unfortunately I packed my BBS tool and the spare gold spike bolts in a box, which is in the container. So, I'm hoping no one spots the missing gold bolt aha...

I've been looking into how to get Lucy sitting as close to bagged fitmünt as possible when she's slammed. I've decided I'm going to go the route of adding 5mm spacers to the rear and getting some IDF drop plates, plus some -1° camber shims. That should get the rear sitting where I want it too.

The idea is to get some polo strut tops and that should get me 1/2" lower at the front.

So you know how I said that Lucy's time stunting hard was pretty much over?

    I lied a little.

Originally I thought I was going to be putting the step-lipped RS' into storage. "Unfortunately" they didn't fit in the container and I have to take them with me to Ballarat. This means I get to do hoodrat shit in Ballarat every now and then. As the car won't be daily driven due to catching a train into work, it should be absolutely fine to run them.

I just have to seriously watch out for the 5-0 as it is a country town.

Looks like I am going to Adelaide this Friday night as well. So going to pack the RS' with me and head to Volksfest on Sunday with Lucy slammed and on them again. I really need to give them a decent wash though.

    Lucy will live on.
