    The Story

So I bought this car in Autumn 2012 for £900 A bargain for what I got! 69k on it, no rust, no dents, 4 owners, all old people, FSH all the way to the original receipt with options list!

    Next 12 Months

I kept Mila pretty standard for most of the time I owned her, apart from added dents from stones on roads... Until most of the tyres need changing. I decided to find some wheels that had a decent set of Yokohomas 195/50/15. THESE GRIP Plus after a while the exhaust died of rust, replaced that with a Cobalt cat back system from Moss.
Cd player, new speakers and teardrop door cards finished the mods for a while.

    The Dry Spell

So around July last year, I took Mila's engine out to fix another mx5 owned by the girlfriend, I then stole her car as a daily and left mine ready to have a rebuild in later in the year.... Unfortunately due to money and real world issues, she was left parked up for 6 months exposed to the English weather....

    The Revival

In November I finished work for the winter. This was it! Time to start buying parts! Over the next 2 months I spent £1750 on engine parts alone. the list is huge and includes Flyin Miata Stage 1 clutch package, SS braided clutch hose, MLS heavy duty head gasket, refurbished gearbox, thermostat re-roue, alloy radiator and silicone hoses were the headliners, full list below!

Last weekend I started building using a JDM 115hp engine as the base!
    Cleaned all lifters,
    Cleaned up the engine,
    Fitted new MLS headgasket
Fitted water pump, timing belt, tensioners
    Fitted all new clutch components,
    Fitted ancillaries,
    Fitted refurbished Gearbox
    Fitted thermostat relocation

After getting to a built engine stage I then realised there was more parts that I was missing... Not much time left Sunday so tidied up and went home.

So last weekend we fitted the engine after I ran around England collecting things like engine mounts, alternator brackets, and so on. Took around an hour to get the engine in with only a few scratched knuckles, we then started plugging leads in, plumbing and fiddling with the coolant re-route.

The engine had to go in at a crazy angle so we could fit it with the gearbox already on... We find this easier than smashing our hands with bell housing bolts....
Finally engine in and yet another list of parts to buy!

This is the updated parts n price list when we left Sunday evening of the whole build so far...

        Leave any questions below Thanks

It is a straight drop... so its the easiest way of making 25 hp, next best thing is going to a 1.8 mk2 S engine (140hp), but you'd need the ECU and all ancillaries also... but no major work unless it's VVT...

Oh! The car is super clean, probably passed with flying colors.
