Well if it's turbocharged, a tune is always a world's difference.
I suggest taking it to a reputable tuner to see what's going on and to make sure your maps are 100% before romping on it.

I think the fact that this car is not concourse quality makes it so much better, I've always wanted a "beater" 996.
