what's up guys, my name is jalen, im 17 years old and i drove a old beat up integra. it's a 92 and it had 134k on it when i bought it. very little rust, mismatch interior and no carpet. The po was a smoker and car just was in horrible shape. i was able to buy the car due to me helping my dad re-do our roof. he likes to say he bought my car, but i don't think he realizes that i've put more money into it than he gave me to buy it with. so i trump him in this regard lol. i got the car for a whopping $900 dollars. might i add it was the middle of november 2013 and it gets cold over here by lake Huron and i had no heat or knowledge about cars. onto the car:

i've had the car for a year now and i've done preventative maintenence such as oil change with k&n filter and quaker state conventional high mileage 10w30(i don't run synthetic due to the fact i don't what po ran), both axles, ngk plugs and wires, distributor cap, rotor and icm. changed the coolant and thermostat (due to it being stuck open)
new magnaflow catalytic converter and dc sports exhaust i've never seen for my car(rare?),new all season 195/60/r14 on dusty gs alloys, fixed the passenger cowl leak, new blower motor, soldered cracked joints in climate control to fix the button lights and have effective vents lol, yellow fog light capsules, nardi shift knob, painted headlight housings black, bought a headlight and signals due to car missing them, bought carpet, removed sound deadening and resprayed it with undercoating and truck bed liner, new oem headlight sockets, cleaned and adjusted iacv and fitv, nrg wheel, quick release, and hub, wink mirror and a bunch of other little miscellaneous things. also, anyone know a good way to resize pictures?(sorry, i just cant seem to keep the quality though my pictures already suck haha)

    future plans:
pull front since someone got in a fender bender(i have brand new bumper support beam and foam and bumper cover and signals in box)
    ground controls and koni sports
    all new suspension bushings/ball joints
    subframe brace
    decent wheels
    mild wire tuck
fix rust and body for paint
bouncing tach(most likely leaky capacitor within integrated control unit)
    icu
replace rotors and bads at all four corners(4 wheel disc brakes) maybe hawk or ebc pads up front along with ss hoses
    grip royal wood grain
ls-t(want to make like 250-280 whp on a street car probably on a t3/t4 and going to use name brand stuff but more than likely will be second hand)
slid into a curb go like 8mph and it caused positive setback on passenger side and in turn i got a bent strut and fork, bent ucla, outer and inner tie rods, broken steering knuckle and messed my wheel bearing up.:/
so she sits at my mom's house in lansing while i find another job because $6.93 and hour wasn't cutting it, and i go to a school for automotive tech(skills center basically) and have been driving out pacifica. i also have a twin brother named jonathan who loves cars. will update soon when it's not -15 out.

Good start man can't wait to see where this goes. My first car I ever bought was a DA. I hacked the springs and threw a set of 17" tenzo r on it and thought I was the shit hahaha was a long time ago. Car rode like a dump truck.

The complete lack of sentences in your posts are bloody impossible to read. I'm not trying to be a grammar Nazi, but if you're going to post a wall of text, throw us a bone and capitalize some words, preferably the right ones.

I do love second-gen Integras - they're my favorites of the four. I've found that an ozone generator does well at removing smoke smells. My old Dodge reeked when I bought it, and I was able to get it tolerable with about two hours of ozone treatment. Obviously everything needs to be impeccably clean to make this work.

You might try uploading your photos to Flickr - it'll resize your images for you when you go to get the URL to share, and I've found it doesn't degrade the quality of the image in any noticeable way.

Seriously? I hope you're friends with the OP and just giving him shit.

Sorry man. I was really tired and it probably not the best time to create a thread. But,for some odd reason, I felt like creating one. Also I'm not friends with that dude because i don't even know him. Thanks for the advice on picture sizing and what have you.
I've gotten rid of the cigarette smell though. The only thing that makes the car smell weird at times is a leak and i know where it's coming from. Again man sorry for incorrect grammar.

And solowx3, word dude. i love them and i spend a lot of time over at g2ic haha. thanks for telling me good start also, most people think my car is junk, but it's got that first car sentimental value.

No worries, wasn't trying to be a bitch about it, and no apologies necessary. I just see a lot of build threads where the text is just completely indecipherable and then the OP wonders why no one is helping him with his questions. Anyway.

Oh, regarding brakes, I've had great luck with EBC Redstuff. Resist the urge to go for Yellowstuff - in spite of what EBC says, they do require a bit of heating before they grip well.

What are your thoughts on wheels and suspension?

oh yeah man, i've seen it. haha, just a bit embarrassed that i did it too. But suspension plans are the tried and tested i guess. EVERYBODY I mean everybody on g2ic tell me to get gc/koni sports. I want to but sometimes i think to myself how i will drive my car.

I mean, i get why people are saying it, i just don't know if it's necessary. But as far as setups go, i was thinking either tein street basis or trying skunk 2 sport shocks with off the shelf ground controls. The latter is a setup i haven't seen often or heard about. The car is currently stock height and on stock suspension. i don't plan on being slammed, but definitely low. I just want a functional, lowered ride height i guess.

Wheels i was currently thinking of are the rota circuit 8's. i know they are reps mugen mf8's but they are inexpensive and not too flashy. If i went the more expensive route, i would love to find some older volk cv pro's or something to refinish. i just can't risk that with my car on the street.

It's not the fact that they're reproductions that bothers me so much about reps (though it does bother me), it's that 9 times out of 10 they're really cheap castings that crack much too easily.

You might have a look in the classifieds around here and see what you can find. For example, there's a lovely set of Watanabe RS-8s in 4x100 for $800 in there. Not too flashy, and come on, they're made by SSR.

I know Diamond steelies are all the rage right down with the Honda kids, but if you don't mind being a bit of a trendwhore, they seem to be a quality product, and they certainly are cheap. I personally like the look a lot, but I know it's not for everyone.

yeah i like the look of the steelies even though it is played out. i hear you about the cheap castings though, all the horror stories.Another type of wheel i was considering were the Kosei k1's. But eitherway, i guess i'll have to wait and see what i can find out here in Michigan.

For what it's worth, it's less expensive than you think to ship wheels cross-country, so don't feel like you've got to stay local in your search.

Searched your build thread...doesn't exist...are you even real? It'd be nice to see how to do it right.
