  • 1974 AMC Javelin

Hi, I have an AMC Javelin. I bought the car in 2012 when I was 13 years old. What started as a little rust repair turned into a full restoration when I asked for help from my Grandpa. I'm not going to post every detail of the build, since it's already written out here: http://theamcforum.com/forum/1974-am...852_page1.html
So basically I'll just update from now on here. The restoration is complete, but I still keep finding things I want to add. Some day, I hope to bag this car. But for now, I'm just going to go static. My lowering blocks for the back are being shipped right now. Enough talk, let's see the car.

Those wheels weren't included. The ones I borrowed didn't fit. Thankfully, I did get some that fit shortly after for free. Just putting this pic here to show before.

And after... The new colors are 2013 GM gold on the body and brown stripes/top. I kept the vinyl top trim to split up the colors...And yes a piece is missing. On its way as well.
    Here are specs:
304 with Chrysler 727 Torqueflite (both original to car)
    Shift kit
4 barrel intake and Edelbrock carb
Thrush turbo mufflers (will upgrade eventually)
Summit Racing Quick 8 wheels 15x7 front 15x8 rear
Cooper Cobra tires (can't remember sizes at this moment, I'll look later if y'all are interested)
    Blacked out grille and taillights
Saddle brown seats, tan door panels and carpet
    1969 Camaro front spoiler
Javelin AMX rear spoiler (this car isn't a real AMX, just a base model)
I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff. Feel free to ask and give input. I'll post interior and engine pics next. Gotta give my brain a break for a minute from all this typing and my slow computer.

Nice car to own when you're 16. Or 30. One word of advice; be careful with these tires. They're kinda unsafe in colder especially wet conditions. Or fun, depending how you look at it.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Here's some engine and interior pics as promised.

Here you can sorta see the diamondplate cover we made to go between the radiator and grille. The radiator cover was also custom made and painted to match the car.

The original radio was missing. The aftermarket guages didn't allow a new one to fit, so it was just moved to the back:

As much as I think the engine turned interior accents (AMX package only) would be awesome, AMX interior parts are nearly inpossible to find. Besides, the wood grain looks pretty classy with the tan anyway. Anything is better than the original blue interior I guess (sorry, no before pics of it).

Nice car. I always wanted one of these. It would be cool lowered. As if everyone isn't already thinking that.

get some 10" or deeper wheels in the back with a fat lip. This thing is sexy.
