    Update!

Found some more goodies! Strut bars front and rear, top and bottom. And I accidently stumbled upon a treasure...

A friend of mine had a little drifting accident and was looking for a shop that could repair one of his rear wheels. We asked a friend who runs the local gas-station and he told us he knew a guy, who new a guy etc. So an hour later we were standing in somebody's small garage looking at about a 100 sets of wheels... There were sets stacked to the ceiling!

Turns out this guy had been repairing wheels, well, forever. In his garage were all the wheels he had collected over the years. We comletely forget what we came for but as I started looking for some nice barn finds, it became clear he really didn't have the same taste in wheels as we did and every set he thought was worth something, was thought was trash. He told us to have a look around so we did, and I stumbled upon a set of these:

A complete and near damage-free set of OZ Turbo's in 15x7 5x112. I asked what he wanted for them and well, I'm not gonna tell you because you guys will just get jealous
    I obviously took them home!

I haven't really decided what to do with them yet but if you're interested, shoot me an offer because they will most likely not be fitted to the MK1. Got other plans for her...

Would have been amazing if those Turbos were 4x100.. you could've built some amazing 15x9s for the Mk1 with those!

Yeah, guess you can only get so lucky....

But I'm looking for a nice set in 13 or 14 inch. I like small wheels on a MK1 but I'm gonna run g60 brakes and 13's are not gonna clear the brakes. I'm hoping the 14's do.

It's getting cold outside and because I didn't want to run my 16v in winter, I decided to look for a new daily.

I knew somebody who had a MK1 GTD parked in the backyard and heard that he wanted to part with it. Gave him a call and a few days later, I bought my third MK1!

She needs some work but nothing major. She is like the rebellious sister that smokes, cuts class and has piercings. But if you get close to her you'll see that theres way more to her...

          Anyways, meet the new girl...

Let me know what you guys think!

            Update!

So I changed the alternator which wasn't working and fixed the indicators on the GTD.

Some more pictures of the car:

I tore down the interior to clean it and swap over the audio from the 16V. Since I'm going the race-car route with that car, the audio was on it's way out anyway.

            Stripped interior:

The floor turned out to be in great shape. No signs of rust anywhere!

Cleaned it all up and put it all back in. Turned out allright if you ask me.

Sorry for the bad pictures by the way. I'll try to use my camera more...

Had a last drive before winter in the 16V. Swapped the wheels from the diesel on to it and vice versa.

Removed the stripes on the side, painted some bits and gave it a wash.

Wound down the coils another inch in the front. A picture of how she sits right now:

Parked the 16V and am starting to tear her down today. Stay tuned...

                Started tearing down the 16V...

Removed the coilovers from the back of the car, took them apart, cleaned them and put them back together.

                before:

                Rebuilding:

                After:

                Also polished the strut bar:

                That's it for now...

quick question, on your MK1 Golf 1.5 are those stock fender flares on the front and rear?

                    Looking good mate,
I especially like your first mk1 after the gulf paint job! What colour was that green? Was it a roller job or a proper spray? Looks perfect so i'm thinking spray?

No they were not the original ones, but fibreglass wider ones. They were on the car when I bought it so don't have a clue about where to get them, or who made them.

Thanks! Did it with a roller, but the right way so stripped the entire car and painted everything inside and outside. Lots of prep-work involved.... Will think twice about doing it again haha!

Turned out great though! Didn't even sand and/or polish it afterwards so the result could still be better...

The color is a specially mixed silk-gloss green. If you're interested I could possibly find you the colorcode.

changing the wheels was a neat idea

i think those golden exips look better on that black mk1

You did that finish with a roller?! Bloody hell! I'm guessing you followed the rustoleum roller guides and used a small gloss roller like the camper van boys usually do?

If you could get me the colour code that would be awesome as I REALLY like it. Where did you get the paint mixed up by the way? Was it just a rustoleum paint in the end?

Sorry for all the q's! But also if you had a build thread for your first mk1 i'd love to read it!

Thanks for getting back so fast and good luck with your current project

                          Louis.

Everyone keeps telling me that and I kinda agree I guess... I want to go back to a smaller wheel. Would love to go 13's but they won't fit over my brakes, so I hope 14's will...
