I was actually surprised it didn't poke a bit more, I'm very pleased with how it ended up.

Tiny update: I have a couple 7" barrels almost ready to get sent to me to replace the 7.5" barrels. I don't like how close the wheel is to the coilover, so instead of the 10mm I'm gonna do 12mm, just to get it as far away as possible without ruining the current fitment. I don't have a front wheel together yet so i can't really test fit it. Tires to be put on next, then order the spacers and extended lug nuts!

Update: got two 6" barrels on the way to replace the 7" in the front, then going to move those to the back. I was rubbing in the front when I turned my wheel all the way, so hopefully this fixes that issue, and I should rub in the rear as well!

So what size lips & barrels do you have? BTW, posting on TGC would probably get you a better answer to your wheel fitment issues than on here, as we actually have experience with the specific platform.

That plasti-dip is nasty, wheels look nice though.

So after buying some new parts, I have 6" barrels and 1.5" lips up front, and 7" barrels and 2" barrels in back. I think with the new parts I can run a 10mm spacer in back and nothing in front

For helping him put his wheels together, he gave me the old bolts from his wheels. Original BBS bolts that are a bit rough but nothing a tumbler and some media can't help. Here's what I've done by hand.

Got the tires mounted this past Sunday! Many thanks to Brian at MWorks Garage in Cincinnati. If you need tires stretched, he can do it! Flawless and not a scratch on my polished lips.

                    Test fit time!!

I started with the rears and 10mm spacers. Poked so much that I couldn't put the car on the ground because the tire was already on the fender in the air.

Put a 5mm on instead, put it on the ground and BAM et perfect (with spacers). The tire squeaks a teeny tiny bit for the last inch when lowering it, so I'll raise the backs up a couple spins and do a bit more rolling and I'll be set. This works out perfectly because now I don't need to order new spacers or extended wheel studs, and the backspacing is fine!

                    And then there's the front...

No spacers, and it pokes like a motherf*****r.

Put some camber on dis b*tch (more like all of it)

                    And voila, soooo much betterr!

The fronts have 215/45, and I figured the stretch would be awful. I looked, then looked some more, then did even more looking, and can't figure out what new size I should get. Falken doesn't make the 512 or 912 anymore, same for Toyo and the Proxes 4. Some tire run a bit wide, some narrow, and some brands don't even offer some sizes.

I almost pulled the trigger on some 195/40 Yoko S. Drives, but I found out those run a bit wide and the stretch on an 8" would be nothing. Turns out Fuzion ZRi in 205/40 stretches wonderfully on an 8"! (Picture below is exactly the specs I will have)

Found a brand new pair on eBay, bought them for $150, and they should be here Tuesday the 3rd. Planning on remounting the following friday

Oh and this coming Friday, I plan on swapping off the silver trunk that has the wing and putting on the original black one, as well as adjusting coilovers. Gonna try to do some at-home painting for the silver lid. Not worried on quality because hey, I got it from a junkyard and I can always have it resprayed.

You know you're dedicated to your build when you realize that the day you were gonna mount tires is also at the same time you had a chiropractor appointment... and you decide to get the tires done.

That would totally be an option... if the guy doing my tires wasn't in Ohio and the chiropractor in Kentucky!

So a long update for everything that's happened in the past few weeks

Thought I raised the car up enough, took it out to drive, and the tires were dragging on the arches. "If you're rubbing you're doing something right" well I don't like that approach, I like every day driveability.

Get home, try to take the hex cap off, oh wait it cross threaded to the wheel, which is currently on the car. Cue cussing and frantic attempts to get it off, to no avail.

Channel locks were the ticket, and although it put some grooves in it, it could've come out worse.

Next, my headlight decided to stop working. Put a new plug in, and good as new. Not much to say there.

Got the new front tires stretched, and I can say I'm completely satisfied with the fitment and stretch quality.

The only complaint is road noise but I won't say much due to the low cost.

So here is how she sits after adjusting the coilovers

After many nights of searching how everything will work, some times debating to say f*** it and just get rid of anything because cars are dumb, I love the way she sits, and after an alignment everything will be perfect.

I'm still in the process of getting the old teal plastidip out of all the cracks and body panel gaps. (dip dissolver ftw).

My favorite interior detail of the car, my Grip Royal steering wheel on a Momo crush type hub.

After the Momo hub, I decided I wanted to have a quick release, so I ordered an NRG slim hub and V 2.5 QR. Weeeelllll the slim hub doesn't work, as the nut for the steering wheel doesn't go all the way down to tighten it, so there's some play in the hub. I'm not too keen on the idea of a washer where it doesn't go, so the plan is to get the thin-style quick release and put it on the current hub.
