    Hello.

So i bought this car about a year ago from an old lady. It was her husbands, but he passed away and she decided to sell the car. It was stored in a dodgy shed for ~3 years. Imagine my surprise when it started right up once i connected the jumper cables. Yes it had rust, cracked windshield and the exhaust was pretty much gone. But e21s are freaking rare over here, let alone a 6 cylinder one. So i grabbed it and drove it home (~50miles) like it was, avoiding the cops

    They day i bought it:

i sourced the windshield, replaced all the brake lines, fixed up the exhaust and it passed our MOT without problems. They couldn't find anything wrong with the supsension, engine etc. Here's how it looked with fresh MOT stickers on

So i drove it like that for a couple months during the summer, while searching for a good shop to take care of the rust. Let's just say the search wasn't very succesfull..so i said f&^ck it, bought myself a mig welder, some sheet metal and started cutting out all the rust myself

Had about 10 free hours during the weekend, so managed to finish up the taillights surounds/panel beneath them. Ended up cutting pretty much everything you see in etch primer out  Cutting out, bending and shaping the steel was the hardest part

Welded in a new plate under the number plate spot and in the corner. Still need to gind down the welds and weld in a patch over the exhaust tip. Then i'll be all done with the rear and will be able to start on the boot floor and the shock towers.

Fixed up the boot floor and pretty much finished the wheel well today. Grabbing a beer makes work go faster
also dissasembled the front end, will be pulling the engine over the weekend i guess.

Started tearing down the interior and poking around with a screwdriver found the last bit of cancer on this shock tower. Will finish it up tomorrow.
Also tried grinding down the welds, but the sparks form a freaking tornado of fire in the boot by bouncing off of all the surfaces, not even the protective glasses help, so need to figure out a better outfit (preferably with a big hoodie) and get some sort of a mask.

so awesome you decided to do the work yourself, wish i was in a situation to do something similar.

                    keep up the good work!

Thanks, man. Always wanted to try this trying to do the best i can with the resources/time and money i can spare on the car.
the original plan was to do one thing at a time while still driving and enjoying the car, but since the engine gave up i bit the bullet and started this complete fixup.
                      now the plan is:
                      weld up everything
                      coat it in epoxy primer
                      second layer of primer
                      filler
                      lots of sanding
cleaning up/sandblasting/painting/polishing random bits like hood latches, suspension parts, headlight buckets, valve cover and so on
                      m20b27 stroker
                      diy coilovers
some nice looking wheels, preferably 16x9 all around
                      and a few other bits

so far the rear seems to be the most time consuming part with all that rust, fabrication of all those patch panels and so on, the floors should be easier..Sills to, since i'll be using new ones

i'll try to do it all by spring

By the way - love your car! BBS Rf's are probably in my top 3 of wheels i'd like to put on the e21

17s are a bit too big for e21 i'm afraid, lol

i'm guessing you're talking about this one?

Dragged this home in the boot today. m20b25 from e34.
Got it for cheap (~100eur). After i sell the gearbox, alternator, starter, ps pump, sump and get my old engine to the scrapyard i should get pretty much all the money back so probably will do a bit of rebuilding.
