Cars have always been a big part of my life. My dad is your typical car freak and that is something he was sure to instill on me and my brother. Fortunately for us he never tried to push any one type of car on us whether that be brand, model, american, import, didn't matter. And i think that helped my appreciation for all builds, if a car deserves respect i can respect it regardless of my personal taste.
This thread is for my daily driver. I've always had a soft spot for old bmws, and sedans. I was ready for a more permanent dd and a fun project, so i started my search for an e28. Pickings were slim in my area and I actually ended up buying the first one I looked at. That was a year ago in October. My girlfriend immediately nick named the car Bummer due to its poor condition, and the name has stuck ever since.
This is a budget build and I have a lot more time, and hard work in this project than money. Which doesn't sit well with the so called "car" scene today, but I never let that discourage me. Ill let the pictures show the progress of my car, and hope you enjoy!
Closest pictures I have to the day I bought the car. I had already messed around with some bondo. Front doors were beyond repair so they were just for practice.

This was my first attempt at painting an entire car, I learned a lot along the way and am sure it wont be my last. Before I started tearing the car apart for paint I did some routine maintenance Oil Change, water pump, timing belt, all new radiator hoses, and accessory belts. I also installed my nardi steering wheel and fixed the broken odometer gear.

Soon after the paint was done I ordered some cheap rep wheels and cut my springs. Although the wheels aren't to my liking, they fit my budget I set and allowed enough money to get some coilovers.

Once the harsh Ohio winter cleared up I was ready to continue my build. This included Nex coilovers, re-install my wheels that I took off at the end of winter so I could sand the clear coat on the lips and hand polish them. Later I came across a rare Zender 3 piece rear apron that needed a complete makeover. I also started my beige to black conversion and installed my matching nardi shift knob.

I know im leaving out a bunch of stuff, but its hard to point out all of the small details along the way. Here are some pictures from a shoot I had done a couple weeks ago by Woordrow Adams a.k.a. Hardwood Productions
