What issues are you having that necessitate switching your front setup out?

Just FYI, I'm starting to see a handful of reports of cracked strut towers on W124s with E36 coilovers, so you might want to consider reinforcing that area if you're going to put all the load of the suspension there.

I'm not sure if it's just uk cars or it's just the 2.6 but we can't get the bags to clear the body and I'm having everything welded so shouldn't be a problem but thanks for letting me know

Is it the inner fender clearance you're fighting with? I had that same problem on my W124, which is why I had to kick the bags out at a goofy angle. You can see the measurements I wound up with in my build thread.

You might also look at SS-5s for the front. They're 9mm narrower, which doesn't sound like much, but every mm counts with how tight the spring pockets are on these cars. They're also double-bellows, so they shouldn't balloon as much.

I know what you mean and probably would make a difference but really don't want the bag rubbing at all and want to drive as low as I can. It's hopefully getting sorted this week will let you know how I get on.

Very cool! Any pics of the front E36 install? Did they incorporate the BMW top plates? There's been a lot of discussion about using E36 coilovers in the past. Nice work!
