  • E28 Panda

Finally I got around to posting some shots of my build. Most of my interior and the rear driver side came from a donor car in South Carolina. This is my way of keeping the memory of his E28 alive. I by no means am a car body repair guy. I never even welded before this attempt. But wanted to give you some insight into my build.

Here is the reason for the madness. The PO's PO wrapped the rear good then decided to cover the damage in 60 lbs of bondo.

Ive been putting in a lot of work lately. Took the next two days off to finish up welding, sanding and primering these panels.

Last shot is the remainder of the parts to go on the car. Entire suspension replacement parts, GC's, BB exhaust, high flo cat, RD sways, and most importantly the brakes.

Will update as I complete these items.

Damn, I guess that's one way to fix something...

Never seen that much bondo before. Get that thing fixed up and get out to our meets we have once in a while.

I don't know about most of the guys on here, but I prolly would've said "eff it" and get rid of the car. Props to you for picking up a welder and going at it!!

and X2 on seeing this work going into an E28. It motivates me for sure!

You should have gone to the previous owners and punched him in the face first.

Serious dedication there bro. Thank god you saved it. Can't wait to see the outcome of this.

Hope to have her done by July. Need her to pass PA inspection first. Hasn't been inspected since 2007 too many little jobs need finshed before I take it in.

Yea this was a quick fix for sure. I can believe the rear bumper even passed PA inspection with only 4 bolts and two large stress cracks.

Here are a few shots of the final product. I hope to get the car painted within the next year or so. Looking to get it resprayed the original diamond schwartz color.

Just got the bumper, surround, and taillights mounted on Saturday. Getting close to completion still have my GC's, the entire steering component replacement, wheel bearings, brakes, and the exhaust to complete. Will keep you posted.

                  Little Teaser:

Final product keep in mind the driveway is sloping the left:

Well she is finally back together and legal to drive. Inspection passed this friday. Here is a few shots of the final product. Some of the photos I took without the front lug caps. Needs washed and the interior needs finished. I cannot get the rear any lower so im going to see if they settle a little before buying some shorter springs. The rear bumps stops have been cut 1/4 already.

Hope you enjoy its been since the day before Thanksgiving since I drove the car.

                            Ground control FTW!!!
