Must be nice to have parents with that kind of money. If you're going to have designated track wheels I would just run all the stretch you want on the 19s

gotcha, only other thing that might be annoying is I was reading that stretched tires let loose much quicker in corners due to the stiff sidewall wondering if anyone can chime on that because pretty much everything you read on the internet these days is heresay

Considering the car has fiberglass fenders, I wouldn't pussy out on the stretch. Your wheels have reverse lips, which means you're not going to de-bead a tire any time soon.

ok I don't normally do this but I'm truly stuck on what to do here- so for those who care I would ask your opinion on what I should do- because I'm changing wheel width in the rear I have the opportunity to buy new tires, and my question is: should I keep the stretch I have now (255 on 19x12 and do 275 on 19x13) or should I run a more mild setup for more functionality (285 on 19x12 and 295 on 19x13) I want to get wider tires but I'm very concerned that I won't be able to turn the front wheels because the stretch is the only thing that makes it possible at this height and I definitely don't want to raise the car- I plan to take it to some weekend track days and I will correct all the suspension geometry so it can handle at the current height effectively - I also plan to get some more mild offset 18's for the track. but I'm just worried that with the stretch the car will be less fun to drive on the street traction wise.. especially with 500whp

thanks guys, small update- got the car rolling..
jk it's on rollers lol, pretty much the only way this car gets around these days, however I did meet someone today who is going to be able to do the partial tube frame front end I've always wanted, this will happen along with a tub of the front end to regain a full turning radius with the 19's.. needless to say I'm pretty excited about that, updates for now will mostly be of new motor and parts that trickle in, until after I submit my college application in January at which point work will resume full tilt

Sorry guys for the lack of updates.. said every build thread author ever.
anyways usually when i don't post for a while i'm not working on the car (go figure) however it is in these limbo periods that i come up with really dumb shit in photoshop.. lets not forget the last time this happened I ended up with e46 headlights.. well here is the most recent brilliant idea that i know all of you have been secretly wondering since day 1..
oh snap.
ordered new lips for the old "fronts" about 2 weeks ago from DPE and they will be going on the rear.
specs will be 19x12 et-38 front and 19x13 et-60 rear, 7in lips on all four corners and a new color scheme for the wheels
other notables:
I have acquired the new powerplant for this car... can you say 500whp?
so everyone can quit the bitching about the lack of power
AAANNDDD last but not least- the reason progress on this car has been lacking..
i finally scratched up some extra cash and bought a much needed daily.. definitely always wanted one as a kid after watching it in action in the bond and transporter films..
]
nope, not a 740, but a V12 powered mighty 750!
so i bought one of my dream cars, fell in love with it, and drove it all of about 20 days before it was TOTALED- yes totaled in a tragic accident
luckily i'm not one to throw a car by the wayside- call me stupid, crazy, whatever- but it will receive its own short little build thread soon after the coilovers arrive from germany.. in the mean time here is close to three months of hard work getting it back together (can't even tell amiright?)
anyway, thats it for now, more updates next week when the motor arrives and other parts trickle inLast edited by Mark Ostrowski; 10-13-2013, 04:48 AM.
