Thanks for the kind words! If that's the case then I've certainly accomplished what I've set out to achieve. I just want to build cars to my own unique taste that strays far from the status quo.

And so the real fun begins. I got everything hooked up and did a few test areas. The process is pretty quick, just gotta clean the steel really well and make sure there aren't any deep scratches but as long as it's like a satin finish the copper can be wet sanded afterwards and polished to a mirror finish no problem. Thank god because bring steel to a mirror polish on its own is a bitch.

As you can see my power source looks like some sort of bomb. I'm going to be fabricating some better "brushes" to make things easier but other than that everything worked perfectly.

If anyone wants some wheels or anything copper plates let me know. I'd be happy to plate whatever now that I have everything up and running.

This whole thread is very impressive, I like that you just go for shit. Props for sticking through several techniques at the copper finish and figuring out the best solution. Can't wait to see what else happens!

ps I think you can also get 24v from the +12/-12V, if you want to add 1 more, although it'll be at less than 1A

I was going to do that to make the power supply into a fully variable one, but plating is never really done over 12V. The solution I'm using actually calls for 4.5V. Another problem with that is the -12V side has a max current of 0.8amps. I need 30-70amps for what I'm doing.

Made some progress last night, didn't get a chance to take pictures after polishing it but here's what it looks like unpolished. It ended up coming out to a mirror finish afterwards

The new floor pans come in today along with my full order of the alkaline copper solution for plating. I've only got 9 weeks to finish this damn thing. The only thing I think I'm going to have to put off is the manual transmission swap and the shaved bay. I'll do those after SoWo.

I'm going to be down to the wire with mine too. I've been putting off finishing for almost a year now haha

I may have missed it but what are your plans after plating? Clear coat or let it go green?
