Good stuff so far man! If I were you I wouldn't use a Victor Reinz head gasket, if you do some research they have a pretty high failure rating. I bought that same kit when I built my motor, used all the other gaskets, but bought a quality head gasket instead of using the VR. I'll be following this build!

Ok so a little update . From what I can figure out , I either sucked a valve seal down into the motor or I dropped a valve somehow. Needed to rebuild the Head anyways because I knew it needed valve seals , just hoped it would last me into the spring when the weather got better . Oh well. So I tracked down a low mileage engine for 100$ and used the head from that , I was able to strip everything so I now have an extra pan and pump and a ton of other stuff. I'm dropping the head off tomorrow on my lunch at a local shop to get the head R&R'd .

In the mean time here is some pics . Started out Replacing some small parts .
Put the car up to Mess with some shit.

    Got another Tension Gear .

Replaced the Tension plate and bolt and tightened the belt

    Old shit

Replaced the TPS and Cured my hanging Idle.

Also got a YELLOW coolant temp sensor . Had Violet one and It made the car idle at 1k . from what I can tell, that's for cars that are in a super cold climate .

Got to work on the Motor mounts

    Nice and Tucked

Threw a couple washers under it

    Super Tucked

Also .. I was asked about how I installed the Pfeba Lip
Used some small aluminum brackets to hold the brake duct scoops on & as you can see in the second pic , every "notch" there is a stud. I drilled a hole and threw a bolt on them . The sides are held on exactly the same way. Drilled a hole and used a bolt. Smacked the shit out of it a few times and its super strong .

So I got to work and ordered Most of the parts I needed to Throw a fresh head on .
Ordered another Lower Radiator hose cause If you're familiar with 533's they eat them cause the pulley rubs against it. I'm ordering a 535i pulley to fix that.

I probably forgot some shit , ill see what I forgot when I start tearing down .

Put the Touareg to work and Picked the motor up . Was a bitch putting it in by myseI drank like 5 red bulls before I picked it up so I raged out , blew my back out and had to stuff my ass hole back in with a broom handle . All good , shit happens .
pulled the head and then went inside , had sex. fell asleep . woke up & stared at myself in the mirror . Normal things that everybody does.

Threw it all in my trunk .

Looks like the shop wont be able to get the head done until next week so I will be working on this Nardi . I believe its a 360mm Just slightly bigger than the stock. Its in bad shape but it gives me a little opportunity to make it my own .

Plan is to remove the black and polish it . Its anodized black from what Ive read so ill use some oven cleaner and see what that gets me . Should work , I don't want to loose the Signature engraved.
Prob stain it slightly and put a clear coat on it .

Picked this up too. Gotta install the radio too. I'll throw some pictures up when I'm not so lazy . Its tight !

That's it so far , I'll mess with the car tomorrow or Wed . Hard to find motivation when its cold and rainy and none of my parts are ready to install.

Thanks man ! It Means alot , I admire your car greatly ! I recommend buying one, Ive installed new pre-pumps before , I noticed much smoother accel and higher rpm more power. Not to mention not having to worry about killing your primary pump from over use

I just fitted a new lift pump to original hanger. If i'd known that new assembly was available at that price i'd bought that..

The Transfer pump is made by a company called Airtex part Number E8197H . They call it the Fuel Pump Hanger Assembly .
    Bought in On Amazon

Ive heard great things about it , Mye28.com has a few articles about them. Cant beat 100$ shipped with a lifetime warranty.
I will be installing it tonight so ill give you an update !
