  • e36 vert slow winter build. Hopefully ready for summer

Alright guys. Been on here a while so thought its about time to get a build thread started.
After selling my kinda stanced ep2 and half done e46 iv been eager to get back too it.

Found an e36 vert for a bargain price, as far as i know she'd been sat in a barn for a while, came with hard top, coilovers on front, springs on rear for some reason, not in the best of shapes but decided to take her on as a winter project.

Day after she was bought. Took a while to get her cleaned up

Once she was cleaned it was time to start finding the problems.

    Mechanics:
    Propshaft flexi disc
    Propshaft centre support bearing
Front lower arm with rear bushes
    Fuel line
    Rear control arms

    Bodywork
    Rear arches rusty
    Bonnet rusted
    Boot to be replaced
    Door sills rusted
    M3 badges to be removed
    Respray

    Engine
    General service
    m50 manifold
Alledgedly m3 cams fit but yet to look into it

    Interior
    Black carpet
    Black dash
Doors fibreglassed to fit bigger front components
    Black centre console

I also like to throw in a few little trick mods here and there aswel so keep an eye out, sometimes they pay off, other times they look s**t , but either way they will be thought out and have reason

First thing i was to get on and sort was the propshaft. In first and second there was a god awful vibration from the rear.
    Old Vs New
Flexi disc wasnt that bad but better to do it while its all out. Luckily drives nice and smoothly now

And my partner in crime helping to build this project. 2 years old and already a petrol head. Like father like son

Unfortunately no proper updates this week other than having to accept that summer is over, so the hard top is now put on.

Someone has tried to spray it before and done a shite job so will be redone some when over the coming weeks.

Next week should see the car being undersealed and a new lower arm. All mechanical work is being done first before any mods.

Anyway, heres how shes now standing. Will upload better pics in the week

why do you have your angel eyes rings on the headlight glass?

          besides that, looks good

Was completely baffled by what you meant then till I went out to check.

Turns out the ring has come away from the head light on that side will have that fixed tomorrow. Good spot, cheers pal (Y)

                Small update:
Headlight is now fixed ( cheers falco_e36)

Speaker mesh was grey in the back and really didn't like them so have sprayed them black so there a bit more subtle. Not a perfect job but can be redone when I have more time.
