E36 Five Oh Swap

I'm at the exact same spot with the headers/abs lines. Confirmed my fears that I'll probably have to extend them, or get lucky with bending them. :P

Headers need to be reverse mounted so they clear the steering shaft.

Fitting the headers was one of the challenges with this swap. Many guys just bend some lines and add extensions on them and blah blah. Not me. Didn't feel like spending the cash on that shizzle so I came up with my hack job solution. Not proud of what I did for this to work but it did and thats all I care about at this point. Ill let the pictures do the talking.













Money is getting real tight, so my plan was to get this finished for Dustoff on the 31st of May but that most likely isn't going to happen. My vacation took priority over this Tomorrow I'll probably cut into my quarter arch lips and trim them down so I can squeeze them in between the lips and tires when the wheels get mounted.

Wheels are torqued and sealed .

Harness is 75% in, waiting on the rest of the parts I nee .

Time to get the headers fitted. Gonna fuck the shit out of these brake lines.

Went as far as I could with the harness today. Waiting on 3G alternator, ignition coil, MAF and intake. After that I believe it's just fluids and I can crank this thing over. Unless I need a throttle cable to do that as well. In which case you can add throttle cable to that as well.

Torqued down 3 of the wheels. Too tired and blisters are coming so I stopped. Gonna finish the last wheel tomorrow and seal them up.

Decided these are my stancey wheels and for now the car isn't gonna get drifted or auto-x'd yet. That will probably come next summer after I can pick up a decent steering wheel, seats, cage, and a lighter set of wheels I can beat on.
So I will be running 205/40 nankang NS-1 tires front and rear because they are cheap AF and I'm gonna burn through sets like you can't believe.
