sorry for the crappy picture but my parts collection for the e28 got a little better today thanks to Catuned. my coilovers and stainless brake lines came today
my dad probably welded half an inch before running out of wire:
after we put more wire in the welder we were back in business:
loaded my car with all my crap went back to my house that is under construction because of the fire.
its a pretty terrible place to work on cars. before i could even get my car in the driveway i had to put about 10 100lb slabs of concrete
my new front assembly vs. the old crap
and the coilovers in the car:
my brother helping me get them in:
ill post more pictures of how the car sits after SoCal Vintage tomorrow
coilovers are all in but i badly need to drop the front down 1.5 inches. i need to get 10mm spacers because of the meaty tires i am running the tires are about 2mm from the collars on the coilovers so i can't drop it until i get them.
photo of my filthy e28 when we got to so cal vintage:
also if anyone is wondering. i can drop the front my car with the Catuned coilovers about 4" lower while retaining %100 of the travel. i can just twist the strut body down. these will easily put the frame on the ground and on the rear can drop it about 3.5 inches more but that is while adjust the top collar down so i would lose travel but not much.
today on the way to school i was ripping it around a corner and there was a big bump that was smooth so it was basically a jump and i caught air on it and i clenched my buttcheeks together waiting to blow out my pan and break my back but it came down super smoothly and didn't rub at all. i was shocked
And my MOMO. Hub adapter came. It was really painful spending $80 on this knowing that I could get a hub adapter for like $30 but I'm not going to put any crap parts into this build. It's either oem or a reputable parts maker and this was basically my first test and it was to spend the money but after opening the box I was happy. The quality of this hub is immensely better than the ones I've had previously. Really glad I spent the money
