Here's some videos from Buxton btw! :

    Here's one my sister made!

    Aaaaand here's one Chris made!

And here's one I put together with some left over footage and stuff

    Update - ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

    Update -

So firstly, put the FC and MX5 gearboxes together. Swapped out a few parts and made 1 good box out the two. :smash:

Got Mat's MX5 in for body kit repair and a full respray, I had to take a photo when the car was all white! (primer) haha. B6ZE friends

I got some parts in the post, turbo manifold tubing

Had to lay off the work on the FC for a week or so while I got the MX5 done. Here's the result, I think it came out great !

After that I finally had time to mock up some engine mounts to get the engine sitting where I want. I aligned the engine so it's nice and central, then I tacked up the mount on one side, got it all welded up and boxed up. Then the same for the other side the next day.

    And the other one

Engine all mounted now and solid, mocking up the manifold will be next :smash:

Also Mat gave me this cool little turbo timer he found in his garage, cool lil thing

Aaaand a random photo, sorting out the headlights and panel gaps is a high priority on the list after the engine's done :wack:

These pictures might be in the wrong order but hopefully it should more or less make sense! Let's start off with this, bonnet is smoothed and had a quick coat of primer. :

Extended some S14 arms for Josh, then gave them a quick lick of paint!

Mate came over in his NA recently too! We lowered it a bunch and rolled the arches. Later that day got alignment too, obligatory squad photo :wack:

While I primered the bonnet I also hit the rear arch just so it doesn't rust for a while! I still need to give him some more massaging and then some body filler :smash:

After getting everything ready, sorta, brakes bled, seat in, hydro mounted in new place and so on. I gave it a quick wash before I packed it up for the weekend.

Fast forward to Buxton time ! Decided I'll do the full weekender this time, good idea in the end. Still quite cheap-ish! £92 worth of fuel, £30 a day for driving. Not too bad, great fun. My hydro is wank so I ended up not using it pretty much all weekend, while also getting used to the hubs. Was quite fun. I'll drop a load of pictures now :smokin:

    Hard parking with Josh!

All the oil out of Chris's car ended up on my front end :wack: haha, his engine is on the edge of its life (170k miles). Smoking a lot, using litres of oil, even after changing valve steam seals. But no worries, I'm pretty sure hes putting swapping engines out this weekend :smash::dw:

After a great weekend at buxton, not crashing, nor breaking anything. Apart from the fuel pump being a cunt on saturday morning! I ended up short wiring it straight to the battery... straight after that it was all fine throughout the rest of the weekend. Cruising back home.

Came back home, washed the car the next day!

Now here's were it gets interesting, this weekender was the last for the rotary. This engine has served me well since sept 2014 and to this day it's still going strong! But now I'm at a stage where I'd like a bit more power, of course I could get more power out of the rotary. But it wouldn't be cheap, nor driveable. I really want to daily drive the FC again, but when I'm spending over a £100 a week just for fuel getting to work it's not quite working out for me! So new engine of choice will be a 4 four cylinder turbo, more precisely the B6ZE out of a MK1 Mazda MX5. Nice little engine with great potential, the lightness of the engine will maintain the great balance of the FC, compared to like a straight six or a V8 swap. The turbo of choice will be a T28, easy enough to get and will be good enough for what I need. Managing all this will be a Megasquirt MS2. That's all I'll say for now, I'll let the story unfold as I'm progressing with the engine swap and updating this thread. But don't worry, the 13B isn't going anywhere. I will keep that engine, and will use it in another project ::

Engine making it's way out the car!

I raised the car around 80mm all round so I can push it round the driveway easily and be able to put a jack under it too without an issue.

I also put my other Nardi on for now, I get real anal about touching my suede nardi! And seeing I will be moving the car a lot with dirty hands and getting in and out the car a lot I thought I'll take it out for now.

That's how the car is sitting now. I took the engine, gearbox etc out. And waiting for the new engine, which I will have on saturday! Then I can start getting it in and making mounts and so on.

In the mean time I have made new fuel lines, the standard fuel lines run along the other side. This would mean with the new engine they would be on the hot side, running right above the downpipe and so on. I didn't want that risk. Hence new fuel lines where the best option.

That's it for now! Thanks for reading, and there should be more updates soon! SAFE!! :

Thanks man! Do like the headlights too but might go back to squares soon. Also I did play around making some rear spats but they didnt flow as well as I wanted. I do want to make a little diffuser sometime down the line!

Thanks man! Yes I had to cut the carpet around the dash centre piece. Cut really far back so hopefully it shouldn't be noticeable at all when the interior is back in!

Bit of a quick update, started smoothing the bonnet!

Sound deadening pretty much fully out!

Got my new springs from Driftworks, moving up from 5kgf to 7kgf. To be fair, I was hoping they would get rid of my stupid amount of droop but they didn't. I must have measured something wrong but I basically ended up with the same amount of droop as before haha. Although hopefully harder springs should give less grip and handle better.

(This photo is before I had to droop the spring fully to get back to the height I desired)

Finished off my hydro, made up all the brackets and actually flipped the handle round as it does feel better in the end.

Also here's how the rear fitment looks after installing the springs, I'm not sure they still might settle a little.

Got my roll cage tubing yesterday too! Put that away for time being as there's not enough time to start fabricating it before buxton.

Put the seats back in, along with the hydro, fire extinguisher and so on. Left all the trim and carpet as that can all go in after the cage is done and interior sealed and sprayed.

Lastly I went down to Chris today to give him a hand with the little engine rebuild, hub install and so on! Schedule's a bit tight with both our cars still needing plenty of work before buxton next week! Thanks for reading !

First of all, I modified my original hydro I made ^^ Found this little katana sword in the attic and put it to good use! :

Will probably end up somewhere round here, I was going to ditch the original handbrake and just make the hydro look oem-ish and build a center console around it. We'll see later on in the build :smash:

Then I decided to cut more shit out the bonnet :wack: Going to mount the vent from the bottom and fibreglass it in from the top. Will look miles better imo but first, making it fit.

Here it is, riveted back on. Edges smoothed, and etch primed, ready to go in with the fibreglass when I get some!

Started stripping the car for the making of the cage too! Slowly removing the sound deadening on these cold days, it actually makes it come off easier which is nice ^^

On to fixing some rust, finally decided to fix all the 4 arches round the car as their all looking sorry for themselves. Started at the rear, can't lie I kept bodging this arch all season and everytime a tire would delam the body filler and fibre glass was 100% flying out haha! Here's some pictures of the fixing process !

After welding, the metal shrunk quite a bit more then I expected! Guess it's just something you learn during the process. Some arch rolling and a bit of hammering, sorted it. I just ordered new springs for the back of my HSD's as atm their fully maxed out without collars and can't go any lower. When these come, Ill bop them in and finalize the fitment before smoothing stage

Lastly, just today I had a go at modifying my own knuckles after reading a lot on forums and such. After all I sprayed them yellow and put them back on. The lock now looks really good but I'm more excited for the faster steering. Looking forward to testing it on track!

Also I had some spare frames lying around so decided to get some of my favorite pictures from last year printed :euge:

And to finish off, here's some irrelevant pictures haha!

haha thanks man! I really like the miata headlights too. Seen it done once on a photo of a race car FC in Japan, thought it looked really cool and tried it myself!

Let's start of the update with some chill pictures!

Now let's head down to Three Sisters for a drift day! I insured the car for a week, drove it to work few days before the event. Discovered my clutch is slipping really bad. Fuck it, hope for the rain and do the day anyway. (Y) Turned out okay, although track is really tricky when it's wet. There's about 6 different tarmac surfaces that just change grip instantly and you just can't get consistent throughout the day, at least I couldn't. Also, 15's on the back to make it easier for the already dead clutch!

And some videos too, btw I got one of those SJ4000 (fake go pro) things ! Great camera, does 1080P at 30fps and 720 at 60. Was super cheap, came with lots of mounts. Luuuuuuv it. :

Anyway, after three sisters I was looking for a clutch replacement. I had no look finding a standard clutch kit at all, eurocarparts does an exedy OEM clutch for just over £200+ But it would have to get ordered, and come from Japan. A matter of few weeks, which I didn't have at the time. It was the 14th, I had to be ready for Teeside on the 31st, new years eve. I could have also got a Exedy Stage 1 organic clutch from America, once again just over £300 incl postage. Problem was it wouldn't arrive till after new years, so the only real last option I had was to get this ebay clutch disc replacement only. £70 posted from London, the flywheel and pressure plate were quite burnt and pitted. But it'll have to do, I gave them a sand with a DA and cleaned them up. Put it together, and it worked better than ever before.
The clutch now bites nice and early, and doesn't slip. As it turns out, my clutch was always shit. And only just recently started slipping like mad...

Cleaned up the box and changed the oil in the process!

While the car was in the air, I decided to get rid of the drag wing and the cut bumper. I think the standard spoiler flows a lot nicer with the new wheels. And overall OEM looks a lot better, I might just be getting older :wack:

Went and did some hard parking too, parking game level up. :euge:

    .......... >>>

And one last thing before I get to teeside pictures, my OEM center console finally fell apart fully after being held up with tape. So I fabricated this quick piece of perspex, then sprayed it in some candy and glitter. Will do for now until I find a fresh piece!:smash:

Finally, teeside! All in all was a great day, really slippy in the morning but then slowly dried up. And wet again for the last hour or two. Clutch felt good, track was fun, used a bit too much fuel than I'd like... but that's a standard.

And to conclude, squad picture with my sister's MX5. She used to own the civic that I may have posted at some point during the thread, she swapped it for this nice MK2. It's already starting to take shape with the new bumpers, wings, and coilovers. She'll be starting out with a Santa pod day at some point in March

I'm currently taking a financial break till about march as well, will be back at Buxton once it starts again in march. Hopefully with some new adjustable arms, freshened up bushes, new hubs and maybe even a roll cage! Thanks for reading !

Big update! Did a loooooooot of stuff before Drift Matsuri, finished all the minor bits. Sprayed the meshy wheels gold, color coded a bunch of stuff. Was a major rush trying to get it ready, especially that the friday night after work me and my friend headed down to Chris (MX5) to try and get it sorted for the weekend. Stayed there for hours trying to get it running with no luck. Came back to manchester about 4:30. Started packing the car with tools and tyres, then shortly after headed down to get some fuel. Ran upstairs threw a bunch of clothes in the bag and by that time friends started flowing in, getting ready to convoy to Anglesey. 5:30 we left Manchester, half way through met a few other guys with some cool ass wips such as AE86, turboed 350Z, and big JDM VIP ting! :smokin: Got to the track at about 9:30, finally had a chance to chill out! On the Saturday I was spectating and taking some pictures! On the Sunday I got to drive the track myself, which I'v got to say was really cool! Lining up with some of the coolest/high spec drift cars in the UK which I couldn't keep up with off the line for shiiit haha  Although the car isn't very powerful, it did feel better than ever after the major changes and alignment! I'll let the pictures do the talking, paragraph's long enough surely ha

All in all, car did great! Track was amazing, weekend was sick. Was good to see all the old faces!
Think this event was the highlight of my year, really enjoyed it! Till next time! :dw::wave:

Quick update on what's been happening, not done much on the fc lately but been busy with other things. Got two days booked in December, 3 Sisters on the 13th and Teeside on new years eve! Should be cool!

Fixed tuffin's front bumper and painted his kit! Looks mega

Few more rocker covers done recently too, this one was for Mat's turbo MK1 MX5. Bit of a tropical flavour

Got the right spacers back from driftworks, everything fits perfect nice!

Blanked off the sunroof on the daily Clio, daily showers started to get boring.

And another rocker, this one was a bit different to most , and it came out great!

Extended these little so called "sea horses" on my rear calipers, haven't got many after pictures but hopefully this will make my stock handbrake a bit better. If that does the job I'll ditch my hydro for a cleaner looking interior. :

Sprayed the centres candy apple red on the daily while I had some candy red in the gun

New thing I was also working on, always wanted to make these and I finally have! Some of these little manz winglets, clear perspex for extra OG ice/original points.

Now for the highlight of the update, copped some Advan SA3R's ?!?!?!?! A mate of mine has been selling these recently, as per usual I was broke so didn't hope for much. But as a joke I asked him, maybe you fancy a quick respray for the wheels? Few moments later this ended up being the deal. :euge::euge::wack::wack:

Copped a ting on black friday deals! STICKAH FOR 70 PENCE OH MY DAYZ

And some new R32 Life stickas too!

I am nearly finished copying and pasting the updates from the other site now! haha
