  • Burgandy Boat - 1991 Lexus LS400

Been a member here for a little bit, mostly just lurked. Anyways, figured its time to start a build thread.

I had a Miata for a while and decided I wanted to do something a little different for the area.

Not too many people around here have big body luxury cars and after getting into my buddy's stock y33 and absolutely loving the interior and quality of everything i knew I had to get into something from the same breed. And that's how I ended up with this.

My goal is to just achieve a good looking, reliable daily car on a very broke college kid budget.

Picked her up for the whopping cost of $875. 1991 with 197k on on the clock but started up and ran just fine, even after sitting for some time. Only real issues were that it had zero brake fluid which I was worried about but luckily was just some rotted out rear lines. Easy fix.

Was pretty hyped when I saw this

Struck gold again and picked up a set of Work Euroline DH's with rubber and front PBM bolt on spacers for only $1000. 19x9 fronts 19x10 rears.

Picture of the banged up side after the coil install

    Before the fronts came down

She gave me a little bit of trouble and would just refuse to fire up. After tracing it down to the crank angle sensor, which should have been an easy fix, I ended up with this.

Sensor was seized in there so ****ing bad. And of course one of the bolts snapped too, for a cherry on top.

Upper control arms were smashing the wheel wells so this happened

    Fronts came down

    Fronts got alligned

    Integra type-r lip

    Tints got done

As of right now i just have some interior bits planned along with a good cut/buff/polish.

This shit is awesome, especially for your budget that you laid out. I was just up in CT a couple weekends ago picking up a car with a friend, very pretty area.
