I'm disappointed that this wasn't a lifted e30 battle wagon to start with. Good work though, good to hear you're getting the mechanicals in order.

Long time no update
So its been a while since I've made any real progress on the car. Hockey kept me busy all winter but luckily the car stayed in the garage and avoided Ohio's salty roads , "dad, I can't move it out the tranny is sitting on the ground over there!"
Anyways!! After a big flywheel misunderstanding, the new clutch and flywheel are in and it is running again!

A pic of the tranny out right before I cleaned it and the clutch and pressure plate installed
I also got the carpet laid in the car but its not completely installed, seats bolted back in. Will get pics soon.
Pictures should slowly be getting better as I just got a new camera but am still learning how to use it!
Got a timing belt kit from ECS tuning which includes the water pump and cam seals etc. Started on that this week and will finish this weekend. Car is apart once again but finally starting to get stuff done!
Back in garage...

Everything removed to do timing belt and waterpump...

Another project I picked up. Planning to build a café or bobber. It's a 1974 cb360T with 4,000 miles on it! Runs awesome and gonna finish it before I go off to school next fall to bring with me. I will post pics of the progress on that build in here as well.

Well that's all for now. Almost done with the mechanicals and then the lows and wheels will come I promise!!!
left to do:
- Swap rear diff for LSD diff I have in garage
- Brakes all around (suggestions)
- Oil change
- Seats
- Wheels (Going with 15s or 16s, would like to stick to 4 bolt to keep it simple, opinions??)
- Stick with springs for now until I can afford coil overs, wheels will probably come first.
-Clean up paint maybe respray
One last picture! Wheels are coming next! Help me out!

Great projects, looks fun and a bit familiar lol. I went a while where all I wanted was bikes (actually had a 1974 CB as well among others), then everything had to be jacked up for a while, now the last few have all been lowered. The cycle will probably restart shortly.
Look forward to progress, I love me some Bimmers.

Update
Well I finally got the needed maintenance items out of the way. Timing belt, water pump, cam seal, all replaced and its back on the road. New clutch and its a huge difference!
Sorry for the iPhone pics haven't had time to get camera out for good pictures.
Took this during a stop on the first test drive
...And because were on a website that supports modified cars...Here is the car I was fortunate enough to take to my last prom this past Saturday, nothing like some heavy American metal cruising
[IMG][/IMG]
Annnnnddddd...debating if I should even tell you guys this but I Bought some reps
I know most will **** but being in high school I really cannot afford to shell out the dough for real wheels.
Eventually I would love to pick up a set to build, but trying to get it looking good for summer so these will be on for the time being.
16 X 7.5
[IMG][/IMG]
So in the "soon to do list" I have a few more things to finish up:
1. Brakes and E-Brake
2. Tires on wheels and spacers
3. Odometer fix
4. Bunch of other little finicky stuff!

Update from summer:
So its been a long busy summer. I have been getting ready to move down to South Carolina for school and working 40+ hours a week on top of that.
Really wanted to get some cool pictures at work this summer but never got the chance, had a job as a mechanic working on peterbuilts for a cement company and had some cool old cab-overs in the shop a lot.
Anyways! Lots going on with the car! not exactly sure where i left off but at the beginning of summer I got some rubber for the wheels as my high school graduation present..
On the way to get those mounted at tire discounters where my buddy works I blew my trans
Luckily it happened as i was turning into tire discounters so i was able to roll into the parking lot and still get the tires mounted!
I had the car towed home and put the wheels on before even glancing at the tranny!!:roll eyes
eventually checked it out and the shift selector rod had snapped. P
So dropped the tranny again (believe this is the 4th time since owning the car) and found a new one on craigslist. Went to pick it up and the guy had a super cool e30 truck
Put in the new tranny and also rebuilt the linkage and installed a short shifter from turner motorsports. Have pictures somewhere but its late and don't feel like hunting through them.
Also picked up some seats from a 90's prelude along the way and fabbed the seat mounts to work with them.
Very comfortable seats and cheap replacement option. Found these for $100.
"Cue giant picture I'm too lazy to downsize sorry guys its 2 am."
Other than that lots of polishing and waxing
So i got the car to where I was pretty happy with it. Its still not as low as i would like but it is my daily driver so until I have another car its not going to get much lower
So thats almost up to date. I have a lot more pictures of higher quality I need to post but just wanted to get started on an update.
Im writing this from my second night in my new dorm room at south carolina....and yes. The car is here...
SO!:
Yes, Its on reps.
No, its not low.
No, it is not done.
Yes, it has prelude seats in it.
Yes, I need car friends in columbia, SC.
Overall its still been somewhat of a budget build on the looks department.
I have spent money for good mechanical parts, and have boxes filled with a full brake rebuild kit from FCP under my bed in my dorm waiting to be put on.
I also built a wood truck floor for it which I will get some pics of.
Again, sorry for the bad pictures. Just wanted to get this thread going again so Im motivated to upload the good pictures I have and to go take more in my new town!
The CB is at home and nothing has changed other than cafe racer handlebars.
Im tired and some of these pictures aren't working. I will have a picture update in the next couple of days.
