    The Absolution

This build thread is a collection of ideas and progress. The Absolution will be a functional form build. RWB is one of the largest inspirations.
    Stay gold. ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

Low // wide // no excessive camber // functional

I've always loved Style 21's (throwing stars). They're definitely going to find their way onto my car at some point.Still contemplating which headlights to use but those look pretty nice.

Spotted these headlights in an image search. I kinda dig 'em.

Right now, these are the top candidates. Just some OEM headlights with the glass removed. It just seems so raw, mean, idk. Looks like it's just staring into your soul.

TE37's are also on my wheel list. Such a simple, classic, yet aggressive design. Pretty much the epitome of functional form in a wheel (IMO).

I like the OEM-ish appearance when they're off, but when they light up, it's similar to the style of the newer ones.

I want to find a version of these that don't have smoked reverse lights. I mean, I don't know if these are, but they look like they're smoked.

ARK = quality. I love the fit and finish of their products. From what I can tell, the sound is pretty close to Stromung exhaust.

BC Racing coilovers from Enjuku Racing will be on their way after taxes next year.

    GT-R style fenders.

Still contemplating if I want to do rear flares or over fenders. Depending on how far they extend out, I might go Felony Form.

    GT-R style hood.

I am heavily considering a csl style add-on spoiler. Unfortunately, the site doesn't have a good picture of one mounted, so imagine this spoiler added on instead of formed into the trunk.

This wing caught my eye, though.

Needless to say, the removable hardtop is on my list.

Probably gonna get some shit for this, but I've always liked the concept art for the E90 style front bumper mounted on an E36. Now that I've found one that doesn't look like shit, I'm sorely tempted. There's even a version with foglights. No, I will never get eyelids for my car. I **** them on E36's. This style anyway.

Still haven't decided on a color combo yet, but thinking satin black to make the angles more aggressive. Other colors will be teal and gold.

    Black interior swap.

Powered by Max seats with the gold trim.

Gotta get the illuminated shift knob too.

I'll continue to update this post as I plan. It's gonna be a slow build. Still trying to get the car to daily status.

Quick recap of my previous cars:

    Wraith | 1966 Ford Fairlane 500 | Gone

    Six | 1995 Nissan 240sx | Gone

    Absoluton | 1995 BMW 325Ci | Current

I traded Six earlier this year for a 1995 Samoa Blue E36 325CI with working A/C, a cupholder, 5 speed, and LSD.

The tires were complete shit, so the first purchase was a new set of Kumho's. Unfortunately, as I had them put on, the guys discovered that a couple of the wheels (those beat-ass Uglia 1000's) were bent. So now I'm working on getting a set of E46 sport wheels to replace them.

New tag frame (and some more awesome freebies)

New antennae grommet from ECS Tuning (for the love of GOD use dish soap or you will never get that damn thing in the fender)

I'll explain something right now: I have never had a manual before. My '81 F-100 was swapped out for an AOD before I got my license, my '66 Fairlane 500 was auto, the '97 Catera (duh), the '95 S14... all auto. This is my first manual. Therefore, I need to practice driving it. I've taken it around my old apt complex a few times without stalling.

However, the driver seat is broken. It will not lock back into the upright position. It's like the handle on the side is constantly pulled up. It just falls back into the rear seat. So, my dad drove it over to their house (they have a garage and tools n' shit). I'm going to go work on getting the seat to lock this week. I thought it was a snapped or stretched bowden cable. Ordered one from ECS and installed it. Still have the problem. Anyway, there's my dad being squished into the steering wheel. We put one of the steelies from Six behind the seat to keep it up.

I also just moved into a house that's about $300 cheaper than my old apt where I was living when I had Six. Just gotta finish paying off shit for them and I can do something with the bimmer.

Tried my hand at replicating Samoan Blue in FM5 and throwing on some white TE37's to see how it would look. Thoughts?

Also going to order some window regulator clips this week. The windows work fine. It's just the clip on the driver side window is broken so the window will fall down if it rolls down.

No real update, just a pic. Ran out of daylight Monday when I tried to get the seat out. Battery's on the charger, etc. Gonna take a crack at it again this weekend, but as some of you know, it's been raining quite a bit in middle Ga.

****EDIT***** wait wait wait, I have one small update. It's an update compared to my doing nothing on the car lately. I ordered the clip for my driver side window from autohausaz. No more window falling down into my door! Also means I can finally drop the top (all the windows automatically roll down when you drop the top).

I'm probably going to be making a new thread soon. Anyway, I got the seat out a few weeks ago. Did I mention the driver door was a wonderful Steel Blue?

And about a week later the clips for the window showed up. Gonna try to work on it some this week, but I put in another 60 hours. Not sure if I can get to it.

***UPDATE*** Found a seat for $30. Going to pick it up Thursday.

A couple of plans for the future (still planning this all out as it is my first bimmer)

I love the sound of the Stromung exhaust and I'd go straight pipe if I didn't live in a quiet little neighborhood, but I just can't get over the fit and finish of Ark exhaust.

And when tax season rolls around, I'll definitely be ordering a set of BC Racing coilovers.

Yeah. Hell, he's trying to trade the whole car for another 240. Which makes no sense since he traded his S13 'cause his daughter was on the way. I'd totally scoop that car up, but my car is my money, lol. It's not enough to trade.

Do you hang out with the kewl kiddos at Zeb on Saturday night? I don't really hang out with any bimmer owners. The only other guy in HG that has one lives in Warner Robins (I think).

Yeah I hang out in Macon a lot, and Warner Robins. If you add me on facebook, I'll add you to a Euro group for middle GA.

                  Friend request sent!

Well my trip to Pendergrass was a success. Got the seat, and a few other goodies. A woodgrain shift knob (my black one is busted so it just slips right off the shifter), a doorstop, and a pair of rear struts.

Got the seat in last night. It was great to finally sit comfortably in my car for the first time since March. Won't be driving it around until next week though when I put the rest of the parts on.

Well, fb can go fuck itself for breaking all of my previous pictures. I'll go rehost them on flickr later. Anyway, I replaced those rear shocks, the window clips for the driver side window, and cleaned the drain tubes last month.

When I removed the shocks, I held one upside down and oil ran out. That told me all I needed to know.

Then I settled on a color scheme. Matte black like the Martini prototype 918, put the Martini stripes on it, but no Martini logo, and have the stripes running down the side like these Turbo stripes. I want to have them extend up to the hood, though, like Boss 302 stripes, but not have them on the hood.

Also figured I'll try out the RE DMS first. I might not even make it to Ark if I like these enough.

If anyone knows where I can find a set of these roundels for my car, I'll give you a shiny banana sticker.

My friend and I went down to Orlando over the weekend to get a set of style 43's from Ravi Angard's E46. Hung out with him and Luis at the Alpha Class meet the next night before we left town and headed back to Georgia.

Also got some hood shocks, but that's nothing to write home about. Tag lights and matte black kidneys are next on the list.

Thanks Ashton. I can't find it on their site though, but at least I know the company's name. I'll try to message them on facebook. If I'm up around Atlanta, I'll try to remember your sticker.

Ya know, I had originally picked Stromung as my first choice, but I thought they were in the same price range as Ark ($800) when I looked them up. When you said they have the lowest price, I went back and saw that it was in the price range of RE. Thanks! I love the sound of Stromung.

i have the glass removed on my headlights and it looks like an ax murderer. ill post pics later

I also have the Rogue DMS exhaust and I LOVE IT. I would say its a mix between muscle car V8 and exotic V12 in the way it sounds through the range
