Im picking up a set on 14" rs gunna get wider lips and power the faces rootbeer

there are a few colors that you can get away with that dont look to ricey/tuner and still maintain a more classy look

I wanted to run equip 01s before I found a dude in my state running them on his e30

Yeah i had thought about root beer too but if my car was black i feel like my decision would be way easier.

Classy e28's make me weak at the knees, so I'd go for silver/polished centers, but hey, that's just me. Sub's cuz I like where this is heading.

Yeah after about 2 days of deep thought I've decided i wanna go with silver. Hopefully after i get the wheels done I will have some detail things to do to keep things interesting considering it could be a while till i can get coilovers but we'll see. Thanks for the input!

Sup guys... hella bored so i thought i might as well tell you guys my final plans for the style 5s. The centers will be silver, close to, if not brighter than the stock color. Polished lips obviously.

            These bolts

            And these caps
At Black Forest Industries we manufacture performance parts for your VW / Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Porsche, and Mini but we also provide maintenance repair parts as well. Keep your ride on the road, make it faster, or make it look better than it did on the showroom floor!

My last question is, does anybody have any experience with srr? They were the only company i could find that sells polished gold bolts. I would just get the current ones plated but i don't want any of them to snap when rebuilding the wheels. I can't use RS bolts because they aren't splined like the style 5 bolts are.

Awesome first car and nice plans. Silver centers on the 5's will look great.

I'd really suggest getting the car running 100% before you do any mods on it. I know how exciting it is to plan and think ahead but if you don't take care of the maintenance now, it'll just pile up and become more of a headache in the future.

Sub'd bc I think this is gonna be gooood.

Well, today was a slightly depressing day because i had to put the bottlecaps back on

But the good news is I will hopefully be able to get the tires removed from the style 5s soon to get started working on polishing the lips and maybe even sandblasting the centers for paint! I will update you guys when i get started. Also i found a guy in Ohio that has parted out 17 e28s and I will hopefully get some goodies from him in the future. The problem is it will be 100$ in gas to get there

Yeah it came with about 120 hp and has probably lost a bunch. But the 5 miles i actually got to drive it it got going surprisingly well. I suppose it is all gearing. I honestly wish it was black. I am not a huge fan of white cars but this car was a deal so i jumped on it.

In all fairness, I have a 525e (Equivalent to the US 528) and they're not exactly "economical" A standard journey, it usually manages around 20mpg.

Yeah economy isn't a huge thing for me considering all i will be doing is driving 15 minutes to school everday.

Got the 5s taken apart today

The left lip is completely stripped and the right has nothing done at all. Huge difference. I should be able to get the rest of them stripped tomorrow and begin sanding soon! As of now, i am not quite sure if i should refinish the bolts myself or buy new ones. People say the torque specs are thread stretching. Any feedback is much appreciated.

After what seemed like an eternity of stripping and scraping we eventually ended up with this.

After looking at them for a bit, my dad decided to throw polish on one of the lips to get the oxidation off to see how it looked.

Huge difference and we haven't touched it with sandpaper. Hopefully we we will start wet sanding soon and get the lips looking flawless.
